First of all, even if you accidentally click on a story for less than a second, it shows up on the “watched” list. Someone could just be lazily swiping through all their stories without giving them a glance and it’ll be “seen” by them.
If someone ghosted you or gives you little care but still “watches your stories” it’s not that huge of a headscratcher as they could literally be lazy to block, unfollow you and is swiping through all their stories which you’re a part of.
If they reply/comment on them, that’s a different story.
But people always talk about someone ghosting/breadcrumbing “but they still watch my stories – ” That could actually show even less carelessness as they didn’t even bother to block or unfollow. Watching stories could very well be on accident or just lazy swiping.
I wouldn’t hold this piece as “hope” or “confusion” from their pulling away unless they reply to the stories.
