Hiking in the mountains, working in my garden (lol it’s a sad little garden and I am a serial plant killer but also an optimist). Also would like to paint the house and finally finish unpacking since it’s been a year since we moved now. So many boxes of books!
A music festival in May. I’ve never been to this particular one, but everything I’ve heard has been positive and I’m really looking forward to the road trip and dancing in the woods.
My flowers blooming, especially the lilacs outside the window by my desk. Open windows and fresh air. Taking my son to the zoo for the first time (and maybe to Chicago for a few days if we can swing it).
My two 1 y/o cats spending more time in the yard. My older cat is 8 years old. The other two were strays, their stray mama brough them to me and I couldn’t find them a home so they stayed. I adore them but 2 young cats in the flat is too much both for me and my older cat. They want to play in the yard instead of inside the house when the weather is hot so I can’t wait for that part.
Maybe this isn’t particularly deep, but I’m really looking forward to unveiling my spring wardrobe.
During the winter, I put all my spring/summer clothes into one of those big blue Ikea bags and zip it up.
Then, when the cold thaws, I unzip that bag and am so pleasantly surprised by all the lightweight fabrics, bright colors and fun patterns in there. It’s like I went shopping without even shopping! Haha.
Planning and dreaming about trips that will happen in autumn, art projects for friends and family, cooking news recipes, cheering for a few friends who are completely thriving right now, favorite shows returning, books, my fruit trees flowering, getting more involved with my community and joining protests.
Good weather, open windows with my cats lounging and bird watching, driving to the store with music blasting, new episodes of my favorite podcast, the pool at my apartment opening up… listing these things just made me feel less depressed today so thank you for a positive post like this.
I’m going on a big trip abroad at the end of May. Visiting my old uni friends in the UK for a week or so then another friend of mine in Prague. I love traveling and adore these friends I’m going to visit and I genuinely cannot wait!
I’m going to my cousin’s bachelorette party in May! It’s gonna be lowkey, knowing my cousin, but one of her best friends has decided to make a scrapbook for her with letters + pictures from all of her loved ones and I’m super excited to see her reaction.
I’m starting my garden! I’m spring cleaning and decluttering, opening the windows to let fresh air in, filling the bird feeders and wearing colorful dresses, going on family walks around the lake, and opening the back door when I need my floors to dry from mopping. I know this seems so small, but it brings me spring joy.
My mom, sister, niece and I all share a hobby and go on a long-weekend every year to a convention for the hobby. My brother’s daughter has started to take an interest too. So it’s a big girls weekend of hobby crafting in a building full of like minded people.

Putting micro greens on everything I eat (feels so fancy but so cheap to grow or get from the farmer’s market).
Growing my little side business ❤️
