Was at a club last night and this girl starts dancing right in front of me. Not touching me, but definitely close. We made long, consistent eye contact, and she stayed there for a while.
I didn’t make a move, partly because I didn’t want to come off as aggressive or misread the vibe. But now I’m wondering if I missed a cue.
Usually when a girl’s into me at the club, she just starts dancing with me or straight-up tells me I’m sexy or that she likes my dancing. This was more subtle, and I froze.
Guys, what would you have done? And women, if you’re dancing in front of a guy and holding eye contact, what are you expecting him to do?
Update/Context: I just got out of a 10-year relationship. So I’m getting back into the social/dating scene, and honestly, I don’t know if what used to work still applies now. Things seem more subtle, or maybe I’m just overthinking it.

Smile. Say hi. Pretty obvious, bro.
She was inviting you to dance by the eye contact while dancing near you.
Well, whatever you do don’t do what I did. I just ignored them and they got more offended. lol
Obviously telling you to approach her. Anything past a glance is an invitation in that environment. Unless, of course, she’s purely seeking attention and already committed to someone. If you’re rejected in that scenario, there are plenty of other fish in the sea and that girl doesn’t know her audience. 10/10 would send it.
Well, the President of The United States would just ‘grab her by the pu**y’ so maybe you could try that???
Call her over and tell her that you want to buy her a drink. Say you’re not a dancer but you have the right moves and enjoy watching her dance
Maybe she’s canadian and wanted to be polite.
if she was a snake, you would be in the hospital w/ snakebites asking “what does it mean if a snake bit you?”
hope this helps lol.
Walk away. She’s obviously not interested.
I would personally never approach someone so ambiguously if I wanted to dance with them, especially when people are in close proximity and it might not be obvious.
If you’re good looking and a good dancer, it sounds like she expected you to jump in and sweep her off her feet, but that’s how life works in movies. In real life using clear words is best, so not sure why she chose the latter.
put a $5 dollar bill in her garter
Light up a cigarette of course.
I don’t know, it’s not like you can talk in those places. Smile and groove away i suppose
Reddit is a great reminder for me that I thankfully didn’t end up socially inept. You should’ve said hi at a minimum.
It sounds like, from what you’re saying, she may have been trying to send you a signal to come talk to her. Especially if she’s right in front of you and making extended eye contact. It wouldn’t have been wrong for you to say hi if you felt comfortable doing so.
Probably won’t happen again, so why worry.
Go on Reddit the following day. 🤦🏻♂️
If you’re interested, say hi. If not, nothing.
Do a 360 and walk away. Watch icekai harem anime at home
Run away and cry

Extend your hand out while grinning or smiling. If she extends hers to yours start dancing with her and then spin her around.
Run in the opposite direction screaming.
For some reason I am still single. Not sure why.
This happened to me one time in college. It was a girl I’d seen around, gorgeous. I mouthed/lip synced her name and then she said mine! Hot!
Return eye contact, smile, dance a little closer to her but not touching, then see what happens next
Say hi, ask her if she wants to dance. If she says yes then hold out your hand and pull her in, or let her pull you in.
look at her, smile, and then look away slowly
If she made it a point to show interest and doesn’t get a response she forgets him and moves on…get it while it’s hot…that’s why they like bad boys…not the ones who play it safe…
