In Vegas right now, and the amount of women wearing those outfits is insane, and every one of them walks and sits the same way, with their legs tight together and taking very short steps to avoid opening their legs too much. Is this just a learned, instinctual trait, or something you have to constantly be aware of when you move around?

You don’t have to remind yourself when you can feel the air
If you’re used to it, no, muscle memory takes care of it fine. If it’s your first time wearing a skirt like that, yeah, you have to constantly check yourself.
Believe me, it is drilled into our head from birth that we must always remain vigilant about protecting the cookie.
I had surgery last year and when I had to be naked underneath a gown, I was like, “So this is what it feels like when girls go commando in a dress.”
I love wearing miniskirts but I also know I’m not lady
-like enough to keep the bits out of the general public’s eye. Short shorts underneath are the way to go 👌
Bike shorts 🙂
You should try one on.
If you do, you’ll know the answer to the question immediately.
If you’re wearing something that skimpy, you don’t forget or need to be reminded.
If you’re wearing a tight skirt, you literally can’t take big steps.
I normally wear shorts under my skirts but yeah, it’s a more conscious effort than when I’m wearing pants. Mostly because you can feel the air to remind you.
yes, you have to be aware of it. you can “get used to it” or learn how to do it but the fact remains that the awareness is there
If I wear something short, then it’s always a skort. That’s basically a pair of shorts with a fabric overlay that makes them look like a skirt.
Yes. Although sometimes I forget.
Well I grew up wearing dresses before pants. My mom, my aunts, and my Grandma’s would remind me all the time. I loved pants bc I didn’t have to think like that and could actually play.
As far as tight skirts go, it’s just physically limiting so it’s hard to take long steps. As far as short skirts, not sure. Personally I never thought about it. If people see my panties it’s not like I’m going to die or something. If they’re creepy about it, they were already a creep before they saw them. And if they’re somehow feeling victimized by it, then there’s something wrong with them. I am mindful when sitting though just cause I’m not fond of the feeling of my bare skin on hard seating. That’s for my comfort thought not because I think somebody’s going to be traumatized by my underwear.
No, because I wear bike shorts underneath and my skirts always cover them when standing. Then I never think twice about how I walk, sit or move.
Man-spreading with a tight skirt on is a way to show dominance. Check out how cool those guys on public transit look when they do it
Flashing your crotch is the whole point in wearing them.
Miniskirts were popular in the 1960s and we were wearing them in high school. Yes, we learned very quickly how to sit ‘properly’ but after a while it became second nature.
I can’t tell you how glad I was when midi skirts were fashionable in the 1970s. FREEDOM.
You have to make sure your dress isn’t shorter than your Spanx.
Generally women have learned how to walk and sit without spreading their legs too wide in a skirt. But plenty of women don’t wear miniskirts for that reason. Or they’ll wear bike shorts underneath.
Since it’s Vegas tho, I’d reckon a good chunk of those women aren’t as concerned about flashing people as usual. It’s a place for more daring looks.
I wear shorts underneath to prevent flashing
I always wear bike shorts under short skirts or else I feel overexposed and uncomfortable. Ain’t no way am I letting anyone see anything.
