ELI5: Maybe this would be better suited for a psychology sub, I don’t know. in my life, I have encountered plenty of people who will vocally interrupt shows and films to say something like “this character is going to do this!” or “that person is the killer” or “i’ll bet that dolphin is an alien” or some such thing.
i may have these types of theories running around in my head while watching a thing, but im generally looking to be entertained or surprised. i typically don’t even watch trailers for things, so as to enhance the suspense. are you the type of person dying to let everyone know what’s happening before it’s revealed? if so, id be very curious to understand why. most people seem to be right about half the time, and you’d think a coin flip error ratio would disabuse them of the habit, but cognitive bias is not a thing most people understand.
