I started cutting my own hair recently, when my barber left my side burns a little longer than I’d like. Imagine Liam Gallagher from Oasis.
At first I didn’t know what I was doing, but then I said fuck it, and learned some cutting techniques first on Youtube.
It turned out nice, felt nice too lol
Apparently some people do this, just for minor maintenance, because your hair naturally grows unevenly so a little trim here and there is fine.
And if the main strands of your hair is now longer than you’d like, *I sometimes like to rock the long wavy hair for a week or two, until it starts to look like shit, it’s no longer as majestic as you thought
then it’s finally time to go to the barber

I trim my own bangs between cuts
I use a Wahl peanut trimmer with a #2 6mm guard and do my whole head, from pate to chin.
yeah! i actually just cut my hair in general, not just for maintenance. its so expensive to get it styled so i just do it myself

I trim my own hair whenever I notice dead ends and doing this often enough keeps it right where I like it, just past my shoulders. On occassion I have let it get a little longer so i can experience the euphoria of cutting off more.
When I had bangs, yes. But now I don’t, so I have been letting it grow.
My hair is curly enough that it hides bad haircuts. Whenever a chunk refuses to cooperate when I’m styling it, I just cut it off

I do both my husband’s hair and my own. He helps get some awkward parts at the back for me, and I go to the hairdresser maybe once a year for a reset/proper layering.
I’ve been cutting mine and my husband’s hair since COVID, neither of us has paid for a haircut for 5+ years and we like our haircuts more consistently than when we would go take a chance at a supercut or something similar
Yes, I haven’t spent money on my hair in over a year and a half because of this. I do it myself. I do my boyfriend’s hair too.
I started cutting my own hair “during the pandemic” (as if that’s over). After a few tries I got pretty good at it and was always happier with the results. I only go to a hair stylist now because my wife fucking hates the clippings that get left behind when I do it myself – even though I try hard to sweep up!

I have short trimmed sides and neck with everything else growing long (like my avatar). I realized at some point I can manage the short bits myself with an electric shaver and just go to the salon for occasional touch-ups.
Between 2008-2015…id trim my freshly straightened, swoopy, emo/scene bangs.
I can never get a good haircut at the hairdresser. Either she doesn’t understand me, or I don’t explain it well. And she hates pictures. So, I just cut it myself and I’m always happy with the cost, the time, and the cut.

I will touch up my bangs quite often and sometimes the fringe around my face. My hairstylist just made sure I knew what I was doing and told me not to worry about it cuz if I screwed up it was on me and she’d fix it lol
My hubs has been cutting his own hair since the mid 90’s. And mine too. Still cuts our 24 yr old daughter’s hair. But won’t touch our 21 year old son’s because he has that weird bird’s nest style that’s popular with the boys

Sometimes I cut my own bangs. Why deal with the price and hassle of scheduling an appointment when I can do it myself?
Also, when I had a Mohawk I had my best friend, who’s a dog groomer, shave the sides when they would start to grow out.
My landlord used to be a hairdresser, she taught me how to trim my own hair.

I started cutting my own hair during COVID lockdown. My hair is curly so it’s pretty forgiving. I’ve gotten pretty good at it
I don’t let anyone cut my hair lol. I have curly hair and quickly realized as a teenager that most people don’t know how to correctly cut curly hair. These days you can go to hair salons that specialize in curly cuts, but it costs like $200-$300 for just a haircut – at least in my area. So, I still cut my own hair even with the option to have it done. YouTube has always been my go-to for learning how to do it correctly
I have long straight grey hair but still dark at the ends as I’m embracing the grey. As soon as it grows a couple of inches, I just cut it off to get rid of the colour on the ends. I think by the end of the year I will have achieved it.
I’m 55 and bald since 2001, but I stopped paying a barber to cut my hair in 1990. I got myself a pair of electric clippers and gave myself haircuts until it all eventually stopped growing. 😁
Since I started balding at 25, I’m now 48. I’ve been shaving my head. But I have a full beard which I trim and maintain myself. The amount of money I’ve saved over the year is astounding!!
