Does anybody else still feel awkward introducing their partner even though you are in adulthood

r/

I’m not exactly old ( 20) but it still feels just as awkward since middle school to introduce my girlfriend to people I don’t know if that’s because we’re awkward or she’s awkward or what but it is never felt natural at all

Is the introduction even necessary though??? Like really ??? As an adult who exactly are you trying to impress by introducing people to the person you’re sleeping with which then makes it awkward???🤔

Embrace the awkward, we’re the people who thrive

Could you be more specific about why it’s awkward? If I’m introducing two people, I’m inclined to say how I know them if they aren’t already familiar ie. “This is Gen, we were coworkers at that startup I worked at back in the day. Gen, this is David, we met at the bar next to my apartment, he’s a mechanic.”

    Totally normal, right?

So what’s different about knowing someone because you’re dating vs knowing them from work or as your cousin or your mechanic or your bartender?
