    I assume it involves polish

Polish, oils, regular cleaning. Probably sanding off layers like the way you grind down hooves.

Ground types probably need general care like most animals. Using a brush (with varying firmness depending on the Pokemon) to remove excess sand or dirt without damaging their natural coating. Special mineral-rich lotions or clay masks to maintain flexibility and prevent erosion or cracking. Some Ground-types might enjoy mud baths similar to a spa treatment. Pokémon like Sandslash or Donphan would need claw/horn maintenance.

Rock Pokemon are usually made of rocks/crystals, so they’d need a different approach. Rock polishers and buffing tools for smoothing sharp edges and enhancing luster in certain species (e.g., Gigalith). Application of mineral putty to repair chips or cracks from battles/general wear and tear. Sand-blasting for surface cleaning, but carefully calibrated to avoid erosion. Protective mineral sealants to prevent weathering and preserve durability.

Steel type Pokemon would probably need regular oiling of joints and moving parts to reduce friction (like Scizor and Steelix). Anti rust treatments for Pokémon exposed to water or corrosive environments. Coating with anticorrosion solutions is key. Buffing and polishing to keep the steel shiny and free from oxidation. Specialized polish for different alloys, though we really only see the one. Magnetic alignment checks for Pokemon like Magneton or Magnezone, maintaining electromagnetic field balance could be part of grooming, but idk how that would work

Let’s not forget about stuff like physical and intellectual stimulation. Some of Pokemon are incredibly intelligent (eg Metagross), so varying puzzles could keep its mental health in check Pokemon like Aggron need a lot of exercise, so would need a vigorous regiment when they can’t battle for extended periods of time.

There’s a literal move in the game called Rock Polish, which is described as polishing the user’s body to reduce drag (and boosts speed).

So I imagine something to that effect.
