I usually wash any new clothes I get. ESPECIALLY if I buy them in a store. You have 0 idea how many people touch, cough and sneeze in a store.

And if I buy online, I’ll usually wash anyways, because factory conditions are abysmal.

You’re supposed to wash any new article of clothing.

  3. Elegant-Tower-5835 Avatar

Definitely. Online, there are an unknow amount of contaminants you don’t want on your body, especially near your genitals. In store, the same concerns, plus people try stuff on and who know how clean they are.

    I always do, all clothing

You should yeah, I honestly never do with clothes but I will with bed sheets or blankets and such

  6. beckdawg19 Avatar

You should pre-wash all clothing, but underwear especially.

I’m the odd one out but I never have for new clothes

  8. desertdweller007 Avatar

Yes, we are supposed to wash all new (washable) clothing before wearing them, and some even say that on their tags.

  9. Possible_Reach_3952 Avatar

Absolutely. I can think of many reasons why it’s a good idea, and zero reasons not to.

I would, and I would recommend it too.

I like how underwear feels right out of the package. You lose that after the first wash.

  12. sagima Avatar

I wash everything before I wear it.

If it’s an underwear emergency and you don’t have access to a machine then sure, slap it on straight from the pack else why wouldn’t you wash it.

  13. Cold_Promise_8884 Avatar

I never do. I always wear them straight out of the package.

  14. RealisticExpert4772 Avatar

There’s no rule or law. But if you don’t wash before wear, you have no idea how many hands have touched it, how many times it was on the floor, you expect ‘straight from the manufacturer’ to be clean, but for me I usually wash everything first , just a little soap easy on the drying

Wash new bed sheets as well

  16. diandakov Avatar

Yes you are supposed to because they contain chemical remains and different debris from manufacturing process also many people touched them or even tried them before you bought…..

  17. spilledmilf52 Avatar

    Why wouldn’t you?

  18. LawfulnessMajor3517 Avatar

Supposed to? Yes. Do I? No

A lot of times that I buy underwear it’s specifically because I’m out and don’t have time to do laundry.

  19. Embarrassed_Flan_869 Avatar

Yes. You don’t want whatever chemicals used in the manufacturing process to touch your most sensitive areas.

A shirt or pants? Not as big of a deal.

If you’ve ever worked in retail, you’d wash EVERYTHING!

  21. spazhead01 Avatar

You should wash any newly bought clothing.

  22. Legal_Delay_7264 Avatar

Yes,  to remove chemical residue & starch from manufacturing.

  23. iOawe Avatar

I don’t. I honestly didn’t learn you’re supposed to until i started being on here.

  24. Polonium-halo Avatar

Yes. They are most likely sprayed with formaldehyde.

My mother always washed the new clothes!
I remember the vivid blue lines of dye that were on her legs from when a new pair of shorts got wet while we were on vacation. Her legs had blue marks for almost 2 weeks.
She started washing news clothes at least twice before holidays after that.

  26. befitstayyoung Avatar

Supposed to? Do what you want. As for me, I always wash because you never know where that fabric has been and who touched it.

  27. not_microwave_safe Avatar

Well, given you need to wash any new piece of clothing you get, including the ones that WON’T spend most of the day cradling your genitals…

  28. yupimsure Avatar

Bras, underwear and towels always. As someone mentioned-add linen too. All others-I don’t.
