And obviously I don’t mean they need to relearn their form, just how hard they throw the ball
They have been building and maintaining muscle every week for years. It’s not like there’s a sudden increase in strength.
That’s why they’re constantly both training in the gym and training on the court. As they’re building muscle, they’re also throwing the ball to maintain their ability to intuit where the ball will go.
If recovering from a serious injury and havent been practicing theyd need to warm up for any muscle loss im sure.
I am sure they also drill as they build muscle, which takes time, so they learn the adjustments as they go. My cousin is a French horn player for a pro orchestra, and he won’t go two days without going into a side room and work on his lip technique which is the start of his playing, keeping them in shape. I am sure an NBA player is doing the same thing, and adjusting as they go.
I mean, if you trained in the gym for months and years without shooting a basketball, then sure, but these guys are shooting every day. The same way, I’m sure you’re much stronger now than you were 10 years old, but I guarantee you that you could hold an egg in your hand without cracking it because you presumably have cracked several eggs between the time you were 10 and now so you know how much power is needed to crack one with your current strength.
No, because they’re constantly shooting / playing basketball and not just weightlifting. They gradually add muscle and their shot gradually adjust as strength changes
They would have to not play basketball for weeks while also going to the gym and building muscle..
And if we’re talking NBA, even after 3-6 weeks, this would not make a big difference in their game. They’re in that league for a reason.
not really because shooting is always dynamic, rather the pure muscle memory. You are never in the exact spot and your muscle strength can easily change throughout the game based on your energy levels. So its always a dynamic process
They lift after the games
