Watching for the third time and can’t help but focus on how over the top it is. I feel like the Beck brothers plot line is absurd. Like they’re business men just hiring mercenaries to kill their rivals in extreme ways?
One of the greatest things about sopranos was how they never went over the top. People were killed but it was done sparingly.

My bf started watching it yesterday and when I came home he told me the exact same things. It’s so dramatic and over the top he can’t take it seriously.

This show is stoopid.
We had some real drama this morning. The well pump stopped working. Asked my wife for an emery (sp?) board (nail file). Crisis averted. Nobody went to the train station.
I watched almost 4 seasons before realizing it was only b/c of Kevin Costner, he’s magnetic. Then realized the rest of the show was just awful.
It is honestly the most idiotic show that takes itself seriously. It doesn’t just have plot holes, it has plot frickin cenotes. It has plot mineshafts. From “the NAVY SEAL is the screwup?” to “Isn’t that guy actually a Lawyer?” to “Anyone that falling down drunk does not outmaneuver California businessmen.”
It is a boomer stroke off. It is a fantasy the olds have about being the upright and stoic MAN while their gentle and hapless millennial children wallow for his affection. Oh, please. Did I mention the Navy SEAL part?His boomerness is 70 years old, any of his male children can easily physically best him. Yet there he is, beating up men half his age because he is TOUGH.
It took you three entire watchs???? I watched 1 and a bit episodes and realised it was some OTT violent cuckservative cowboy jack of fantasy.

I tried watching it for Kelly Reilly and dropped it after two episodes. Literally just a soap opera that’s too over the top to be believable, and I can’t believe it’s so popular.

Taylor Sheridan was so cringe it became unwatchable for me. It was like watching a guy watching himself jerk off in a mirror. And recording it for broadcast. Not a redeeming quality in the character he wrote for himself about himself. Costner did well to get his character killed off when he did.
Way too predictable
The 1st episode/ 1st 5 minutes really cements how dumb it is. It got better and I watched the whole series as well, but trying to re-watch just makes me feel dumb for enjoying it the first time around.
