How do you stay motivated when you’re struggling to keep going?

r/

I’ve been having a tough time staying motivated lately. It feels like every time I try to push myself to get things done, I hit a wall. Whether it’s work, school, or personal projects, I just can’t seem to keep that drive going. I know people talk a lot about discipline and willpower, but when you’re really struggling, it’s hard to even get started.

How do you stay motivated when things are tough? Any tips or routines that help you stay on track even when your energy or enthusiasm is low?

I only work well with deadlines. If I have all the time in the world, it takes me all the time in the world to get it done.

I’m going through the same thing. For me it’s accomplishing the most important things in the morning after a big breakfast and shower/face wash. I know that’s easier said than done but creating a morning routine has changed my life and I’m not a morning person.

I find that when I hit that wall it’s best to stop for a bit. The motivation will come. I’m there now. I’ve moved, see hundreds of things to do, and I have no motivation to do anything. I pull back a bit and wait.

Because what else is there? You hustle and then relax after work. If you relaxed all the time, the drive and hustle would he meaningless. It’s the work that you put in that’s rewarding once it’s accomplished.

What helps me is the desire for life experiences with my wife. We’re getting older and are looking to travel. The hustle is enough to keep me motivated.

Also, exercise helps with discipline and motivation, and it gives you a boost mentally.
