Does anybody else notice a rise of people lacking research/critical thinking skills?

I’m sorry but is anybody else fed up with how people use TikTok a source of information and do no further research?

I’m currently on the side of TikTok where everyone is like “🤣🤣🤣 you wasted your money, china just exposed these luxury brands big time” and also on the side of people talking about how the Coachella crowds were so lame because they couldn’t hear the crowd through the recordings posted by the artists.

Like I’m sorry but isn’t it known that technology is better now to where the mic is isolated so that it’s only picking up the artist and not the crowd?

Also I’m pretty sure that china is banned from having TikTok access and somehow now one is suspicious that they’re only coming out now to talk about how luxury brands are a scam and to buy from them on the low. I’ve also seen the bags that they’re showing that are “manufactured in the same factories” and have compared them to the actual luxury bags that I have and the color and stitching and hardware are completely different.

TikTok is literally regressing people’s ability to research and to form logical/critical thought.

Honestly, I don’t doubt that most of the luxury brands are mostly made in China since there was talk about that being the norm a few years ago. This could just be a marketing scheme on the TikTok sellers’ part which could be a pretty smart move.

But yeah, I definitely think a lot of people take things at face value anymore without healthy skepticism. It’s hard to find quality information easily anymore. The algorithm and news outlets have really pissed on everything.

Yes, I’ve been ranting about it for as long as I can remember.

I’m perplexed by the somewhat contradictory condition of people, particularly younger generations who are caught up in a paradox of having extreme cynicism/skepticism towards information/misinformation and a general awareness and distrust of information presented across online platforms, yet simultaneously being unable to fact check, research, or think critically about the same information.

On saying that, there are a disturbing number of people who just swallow whatever is forced down their throats and recite those talking points beautifully when arguing against bots and other bad actors. I’ve noticed a lot of people online just argue with common talking points yet can’t/won’t elaborate on these talking points, but still presume they’re the ‘I win’ button to any online topic.

Yeah and the video of the Chinese guy talking about how China looks after its middle class and poor workers in these trade profits with the US while the USA didn’t all the while the difference between their riches and poorest has grown far higher. China hires millions of people to post this shit online, and is probably finding many foreigners to do so also.
