Recently i kept seeing video and articles pop up saying why less men are attending college. But the thing is, men make more money than women statistically. Does it really matter if they go to college or not. Or is this just a status thing. why keep pushing college id there are alot of other avenues.

The stat of salaries men vs women is unrelated to college education. That compares men and women of similar positions.
Society pushes college because statistically, college educated men make much more money in their lifetimes. A simple Google search will give you countless resources.
That being said, it depends on the degree and field you go into. But that information is obtainable with research too.
I don’t even know how to begin to respond to this. Just curious, how old are you?
Post secondary education generally is a pathway to better career options. It doesn’t have you be college/university, but if you don’t continue any education then you’re most likely to be stuck in job prospects and earning potential.
Men making more is a complicated issue. But generally speaking higher earning men are going to be educated in something beyond high school. Even for low pay jobs, when there’s competition for jobs companies can ask for those with post secondary education even if it’s not really necessary.
Statistically, the college educated make more as a group.
Problems: this is weighted heavily by very high earners. This ignores the value of the trades. The focus on more money isn’t necessarily what will make Skene someone happy.
I do not like the college push. My wife and I have set up a scholarship fund to support high school students who are going into the trades. We are both doctors.
If I did it over again, I would still at least go to college before going into the trades. There’s just a lot to be learned there.
But what I hate is not that society pushes people toward college, but that society tends to look down upon everyone else.
Things can change relatively quickly. White the trades can earn more today, there is no guarantee that this will continue to be the case.
In an ideal world, all being equal, the proportion of genders in college, the trades, politics, etc should reflect the proposition of genders in society. From a society level, we should look into this.
Since you’ve posted the same question twice, I’ll post the same answer twice:
There’s a huge uptick now in people going to college, male or female. This is leaving a huge gap in supply of people entering trade jobs that don’t require college, such as plumbing, electrical, automotive, food, trucking, and construction just to name a few. At the same time, many people doing this work now are reaching retirement age.
There are already trade jobs that pay more than people coming out of college with an MBA. Also, starting salaries for many non-STEM fields is much lower. As shortages in these jobs continues, that will only drive pay for this kind of work higher. So it’s not necessary to go to college if a field like this appeals to you.
