My mum has fallen for extremely obvious Facebook scams like 5 times now.
Yesterday I deleted her Facebook account at her request, she’s a danger to herself on there because she’s extremely gullible. Like a lot of old people are on social media.
Online gambling is not rigged. It’s dice game where the dealer held the diceby their hand and choose which face to appear. The casino is programed by them. Do you think they’ll program it to profit you ? Are they some charity fund ?
You might be better off throwing a slipper and bet which side will be on top.
“Someone knows what your problems are, therefore they know what the solution is”.
This scam is used by cults, con-men, alt-right grifters etc.
The scammer finds a victim who is not happy with their life and describes their unhappiness to them: “Life has lost meaning for you, no one appreciates you, the world has become soulless for you, you care too deeply about things… blah blah” and the victim is so happy that someone finally understands and/or seemingly cares about their predicament. And to the victim the scammer seems wise and knowledgeable and perceptive
So when the scammer offers their useless or mediocre advice to solve the problems (“You need to transcend the seven psychic levels” or “We need to practice sexual healing together” or “You need to clean your room”) the victim is already sucked in and willingly goes along with the stupidity.
Marriage. The greatest scam of all. Teach all girls at a young age, that this is the pinnacle of your life and let the carnage commence.
It destroys most people.
Timeshares is right up there. Now that AirBNB and VRBO’s exist I am really not sure why anyone would get a Timeshare. Not that I understood it before but now it makes zero sense.
Polaris HD!!! Wear them inside! And outside! Is the sun REALLY bright? AND entirely confined in your living room? Is the radiation poisoning your pet dog? GOOD! You need POLARIS HD!
That things should cost three times as much as normal because they have the word “wedding” attached to them. Food, flowers, music, photography, invitations, etc.
Receiving letters saying something like “your drivers licence has got misinformation on it so we will need to fix it” then asking them to return the licence in the letter! like wtf who is doing that
MLM. If you sign up for primerica, and you get one friend to sign up, and you get their friend to sign up, you’ll be making mad money. 🙄 yeah ok. And all the dummies currently in trying to find new prospects monthly. 😂
That you have a soul and what you do in life affects your soul in an afterlife. The second you believe that you have a soul you are trapped in the web of lies.
It was supposedly from the USPS and they needed my credit card info to complete the delivery. It was a perfect storm of events. I was waiting too long for an Amazon delivery, I also just woke up and was hazy from the sleep.
I never received the package (which was big and expensive), and I also cancelled my debit card an hour later after I actually woke up and realized what happened. Nothing was charged from the account but I definitely did a Matrix dodge with that bullet.
I never did get a refund from that Amazon order though so maybe I should have actually let someone charge a few things from my account so I could dispute that as well lol
“I want to buy your item but I am out of town. I will send you way more money than you are asking for, some of which you must use to pay a shipping company, and the rest you can keep. Here is the contact info for the shipping company so you can send them the money.”
“I’m a hot girl online and I want your nudes. Ooops, I am actually underage and my parent will now threaten to call the cops on you if you don’t pay for my therapy!”
“I’m a hot girl online and I want your nudes. Ooo, so hot! Guess what, if you don’t pay me then I will leak your nudes!”
“Hello Tom, whoops, you say you are not Tom? I must have the wrong number for texting, but you seem like a really nice person so I want to be your best friend. Hey, ever heard of crypto?”
“Hello, it is me, Very Famous Celebrity. I want to be friends and then lovers. I am having trouble buying a plane ticket to come see you and get married, please send me some money and my agent will repay you.”
“We’re a random company you’ve never heard of advertising our great products on social media. The products are really low priced! Come buy our products that certainly are as advertised and aren’t just dropshipped crap!”
“We are definitely your bank/a debt collections agency/the real website for a company going out of business/paypal/zelle/venmo, and we need you to click here to input your login credentials/place an order for products/upgrade your account. No need to check if the website domain or email address is legit, that will take too much time, you can trust us!”
Every ad on YouTube or social media? A scam. Nearly all the content? Also a scam. The smartphone didn’t just connect us it supercharged every con that depends on communication. It’s a scammer’s paradise, and we’re living in it.
False advertising for goofy crap from fly by night internet retailers who advertise through social media. I just sent another one my money yesterday, let’s hope those Mothers Day cards look like they did in the ad
In the 1980s, someone clearly thought “Hey, we’ve got these really shit bits of chicken, what can we do with them?”
And someone said “You know what, we’ll make a cult out of these shit bits of chicken and sell them for a premium price”
They’re shit. Literally the shittest bit of chicken you can find other than the feet (and don’t start me off with the Chinese with their chicken feet and fish heads).
