Take time to sit with your thoughts—whether it’s in the shower, during a meal, or just a quiet moment without your phone. Let yourself space out and really reflect on your life, your goals, and the things you’re finding difficult.
I also try to either move my body or create something every day. I don’t always manage to do both, but fitting in at least one helps keep me grounded and balanced.
Cooking. Its not just the physical aspect of cooking and then cleaning up everything but also the mental drain of having to decide what to eat, make sure you have all the ingredients, decide on the cooking, prep and serving but also factor in personal taste and allergies, especially if you have guests over.
Well, not a morning person so being woken at 6 by a toddler screaming from the toilet that they’ve done a poo is hard, plus instant punishment having to clean shit within a minute of being awake most mornings.
Food – healthy, interesting, filling and balanced – too many factors for me, chuck in what my children and annoyingly fussy husband will eat.
Getting in the shower and conversely then getting out of said shower.
Putting clothes away.
Fighting the urge to sing song lyrics out loud when someone says certain things e.g. let’s get ready…
