Army Dog Handler vs LE

r/

I am a 22 year old male with a degree. I recently signed a contract with the Army to be a 31k (military working dog handler). However, I am going through the process for my local police department and I have a good chance.

If I was to get offered by the police department, should I take that instead of being a dog handler? Or should I realize how lucky I am to have a dog handler contract and proceed with that?

Just go LE, you be a dog handler on any PD. At 22 joining the military basically is useless if your goal is LE.

These aren’t even remotely similar jobs, pick what you want to do.

Normally, I’d say go army to get free college, but since you already have a degree, I say just go LE

Soo you signed a contract…. Forgive me since I’m not prior MIL but can you back out once you signed? Isn’t that the point of a contract?

Yeah signing a contract means nothing

If you signed the contract with the army you’re locked in, sorry but its too late to back out now.
