I dont know if this is big name or not, but that Onn. brand sells wireless earbuds that have worked so much better than literally anything them bigger names sell and they’re only 20 bucks.
I love President’s Choice and No Name brand for a lot of stuff but my favourite is the Naturally Imperfect produce, the gala apples and peppers are such a good deal.
For the mechanics amongst you, there’s this metal engine part replacement for Chrysler V6es that replaces a plastic – yes, PLASTIC – engine part where you attach an oil filter. If you keep the OEM part, then all it takes is one lube tech at your local Midas or whatever to do a slapdash oil change and suddenly your nice car would be a paperweight.
Diaper genie refills kept splitting and busting open for me. The off brand ones were way more durable in my experience. Been getting some brand called Mama Bear and have never had one bust, tear, or split.
Great Value’s water may be glorified tap water, but it tastes better than almost every big name brand. Though it’s gone down slightly since they stopped packaging them in milk jugs.
Snapps Potato Skins tastes almost exactly like frozen TGI Fridays version at half the price.
Fast Bites sandwiches are a lot better than you’d think $1 microwave sandwiches would be.

A significant portion of Kirkland products from Costco

Hill Country Fare Fudge Mint Cookies (at HEB in Texas) are better than the Girl Scouts’ Thin Mints, way cheaper, and available year round.
Up and Up.
No Name potato chips. Cheap and delicious at $2 bag. Who pays $5 for a bag of Ruffles?

Those giant bags of malt-o-meal cereal. Specifically the cinnamon toast crunch knockoff. So friggin good.

It’s not a million times better, but Food Lion brand salsa and picante sauce is pretty darn good, compared to the national brands that cost more.
Wish there was a web site that identifies who really makes store brands.
Benton’s cookies and chips at Aldi
Those massive bags of cereal
Duet bars from Dollarama are way better than Twix.
Diaper genie refills kept splitting and busting open for me. The off brand ones were way more durable in my experience. Been getting some brand called Mama Bear and have never had one bust, tear, or split.
I kinda like the ‘Turtles’ from Aldi more than the goldfish brand cracker
Tissues, rice, sugar, coffee,
Oreos
Yes, it’s the knockoff. The original is Hydrox
Harris Teeter brand cherry cola zero. I used to think Pepsi Zero Wild Cherry was da bomb, but they’re outclassed by HT.
The store brand English Muffins that I buy are so much thicker and fluffier than Thomas’. Shout out to Market Basket!
Oreo
Diet Dr. Thunder
Dollar store early pregnancy test kits.
Anything from trader joes!
Aldi’s store brand version of the Keebler fudge stripe cookies. Kroger brand peanut butter cheerios.
Oreos are better than the original, Hydrox.
Water.
Medications
Kirkland signature
The Mexican herbs and spices that come in bags instead of jars.
So much stuff from Aldi.
Dollar General thin mint cookies are, in my opinion, the original recipie. The current girl scouts thin mint are junk compared to them.
Dummy iphones
Great Value Ranch Dressing is by far the best ranch dressing.

Private Selection Mediterranean hummus from Smiths/Kroger
Kroger’s house brand Private Selects: hot dog & hamburger buns are fantastic especially for about 1/3rd the cost of name brand.
They also have some killer salsa’s. Their Chipotle Salsa is my go-to.
The A1 clone from Walmart.
Dollar Store greeting cards ate cheaper and nicer looking (less tacky and busy) than the majority of Hallmark cards, imo.
Signature brand q-tips.
Kroger peanuts
The Sam’s Club Chicken bites are better than Chic FIL A
Meijer brand rice crisps. Are WAY better than the Quaker ones. Cheese, Carmel and Chocolate.
Bottled water.
