I honestly don’t even understand the point of it. I can see it being fun in theory, but in reality, it all just comes out in a big unpredictable blob. The only thing I see it used for these days is kids spraying it on shop fronts or along walls. It leaves greasy stains, it can be incredibly hard to remove once it’s dried anywhere, the only good thing is that the cans are usually empty after just a couple of sprays.
There’s nothing fun about it. I truly have no idea why anybody spends their money on silly string when streamers will effectively do the same thing with less mess, and it baffles me that it’s still being produced.

The cheese one tastes way better.
i love the smell though
Had somebody silly string my car at night while camping. I had to spend hours cleaning it up. She recognized it was a bad idea after seeing me work to clean it.
It’s that “What’s the point?” class of toy, like Gak, Floam, Icky-Poo. “Okay, so I just touch it and throw it around?”.
We had a Silly String fight on the bus once. Sorry bus driver. I also sprayed it over my Mom’s black car in the middle of Summer. Oops.
Some silly string comes out globby, but most I’ve used have a good 10′ (~3m) stream.
IIRC it used to be better (came out as string, not blobs) but it was also flammable so it was completely reformulated and replaced by something different that was not flammable (but not as good)
[It could also be argued that original silly string was also a lot of fun because it was flammable, provided you were lighting it intentionally and not, say, inadvertantly using it too near the birthday cake candles and accidentally burning down the house]
