I recently moved from Australia to the UK for two years. Back home, the police can breath test anyone for an alcohol reading with the limit being 0.05. What are the rules on this in the UK? I have asked a fair few people but cant seem to get a distinct answer.

Do immigrants (mainly from Africa and the Middle East) really commit way more crimes than the rest of the population (including immigrants from other parts of the world e.g. China)?
I watch a lot of Police interceptors and get mad when some idiot with no license, insurance or tax goes on a high speed joyride. Then runs from the cops and resists arrest because they are drunk and have a car full of drugs only to be given shitty community service punishments and small fines, they even state lack of evidence in some cases where it’s blatantly obvious the evidence is right there. If it annoys me i bet if pisses you lot off who put so much work into so little punishment for the criminals, how do you keep morale up knowing the scum your arresting will likely be let off with a slap on the wrist?
Have you read the book “Wasting Police Time”? What did you think of it? It makes policing in the UK sound like officers are drowning in paperwork and time-wasting activities remote from actual law enforcement.

Are officers required to work in pairs, or are there certain calls that must only be responded to in pairs? I’ve watched a lot of police videos (granted, US ones) and it’s not uncommon for an officer working alone to respond to a call, which then turns into a pretty dangerous situation.
Did you enforce the mask/ covid jabs protocol. Did you have to tell your self. “Just doing my job” or did you actually believe you’re doing the right thing.
