Do Americans bring law into daily matters as much as they show in tv show?

r/

I have see too many tv shows, I know they exaggerate things but I just want to know how much.

Do friends or neighbors really bring law enforcement into picture just over an argument about things like, let’s say noise complaints, or nuisance created by somebody’s pet, lawn grass, or smoke created by backyard cooking, parking spaces etc.?

And how much of the “Karen” thing is real?

    Nope.

Tv likes to over dramatize never assume anything shown is remotely accurate

Most people will just talk or ignore it altogether

I’ll save you some time. When your question ends with -as much as they show on TV, or any iteration, the answer is usually going to be a no.

I work in a law enforcement adjacent field, and I’m friends with many cops. Most people don’t do this, but it happens enough to where most cops deal with stupid disputes like this at least once or twice a day.

I mean, it happens on occasion, but very very rarely, and usually the police either tell em to just deal with it, or ask you to try and just keep disturbances down and have a nice day otherwise. As with Karen’s, I imagine their prevalence is pretty consistent in most society, self important annoying people hardly seem like a unique cultural phenomenon
