So I’ve applied to 2 departments. I have my polygraph with the first department in February passed already did the captains interview and still in the process. I did my polygraph with the 2nd department a couple weeks ago. Same process literally same questions and everything and the dude said he couldn’t pass me because on one of the questions I got a negative response positive then neutral. He said they could send me back to just go over that question again. Has that happened to anyone? Passed a polygraph then literally took the same one and not passed?

Polygraph is a joke. It’s voodoo. They’re all basically the same and many here, myself included, have passed and failed them.
I’ve never heard of anyone being sent back to go over one question. I’d say there’s a better than 0% chance the administrator was lying to you just to see how you’d react.
Don’t sweat it until you hear from your recruiter. The polygraph administrator saying you ‘failed’ doesn’t necessarily mean that’s the end of the road.
If tou truly “failed” one question on the voodoo box then I doubt the agency will send you back to retest 1 question and would just bounce you. Depends on the question and the agencies rules what what they accept or dont.
Its a common trickthe voodoo box operator uses to elicit confessions showing you lied. Sometimes its a “legit fail”. Youll know when you hear back from the agency which it is.
If it is a fail dont get too discouraged, many people got bounced from poly and make it somewhere else. A suprising amount of people admit wild stuff during them.
