It is not possible to behead yourself with a knife. You cannot swing hard enough and your body will stop you

Prob until they hit a major artery

Depends which side they start at. If they start at the front, they’ll cut their windpipe. If they start at the side, they’ll bleed out.

The neck muscles are really strong and thick, on the off chance they managed to actually make it through them however there’s no way they’d make it through the spinal column.

If you sever your jugular you’re gonna bleed out very quickly, around 2 minutes. You may make it through one side but blood loss will quickly take your strength and you won’t make it through the other.

Not very far if the cartel videos are real and accurate.

If you make it through the spine from the back you’d be paralyzed. If you go on either side of the neck you’d hit a artery and bleed out. The wind pipe also makes a pretty distinct noise when cut. Like you depressurized something.

Big enough knife and a good toss could do it fully

You won’t get your head off cutting it off yourself. You cut the spinal cord if you start in the back and you’re paralyzed, start at the sides and you’ll cut your carotid artery start in the front and that’s how you’d last longest but you’d never get your own head off without a guillotine or something.

There’s a video on r/combatfootage of a Russian soldier trying to end himself with a knife to the throat he gets shockingly far before losing consciousness.
