Oh man, if M. Night Shyamalan took on Titanic, that would be something else entirely. I’m imagining the whole thing would definitely still be his signature mysterious vibe where you’re always expecting something crazy to happen.
For the cast, maybe he’d bring back some of his regulars like Joaquin Phoenix, who could take on Leonardo DiCaprio’s role. For Kate Winslet’s part, maybe someone like Bryce Dallas Howard, since they worked together on The Village. He could bring in others he’s worked with like James McAvoy. But let’s be real – he’d probably mix in some of his other faves or newer actors too, just to keep things fresh.
And the twist? Ooooh, what if, like, Rose was actually a ghost the whole time? Or maybe the iceberg was a sentient being or connected to something like ancient curses. Shyamalan loves those supernatural or out-of-the-box twists. Maybe the ship was meant to sink to save the world from something worse. Who knows, right?
I’d guess the length would be similar. M. Night Shyamalan movies often have detailed storytelling, so he’d probably stretch it to around the same three hours. Lots of build-up and suspense. There’d be a whole part of the movie focusing on little things that become big clues to the twist.
I wonder how he’d handle the iconic “I’m the king of the world” scene…
