My mind is super weird. sometimes; i misread and mess up my words alot. here is some examples
Words – The water is hot
“The hotter is wat-“
Sometimes, i instantly forget what someone has said to me despite focusing really hard.
When my parents are yelling at me, sometimes they ask me to repeat what they said and i only manage to catch a little bit of it despite focusing hard.
When i write; whatever im thinking of in my head automatically takes control of my pencil and gets wrote down, despite me writing something different originally.
When i walk into rooms for something; sometimes i automatically forget why im there in the first place
My vision is a bit strange; sometimes i misread texts and replace “mild” with “mad”.
This started in my 9th grade of school, aka freshman year of highschool. i dont have any mental health problems (as far as im aware). my days are normal, i dont experience mood swings, im physically active and are healthy in diet and all. i’m really amazing at ELA / english and writing
what is it exactly? why does my mind function this way?

It helps me to go behind the words for the meaning. The hotter is wot again?!? Just jazz it out bro
Sounds a lot like ADHD to me with a possible comorbidity of visual processing disorder.
Have you been watching “Fawlty Towers” lately?
Hey, I’ve had ADHD my whole life and you’ve just described a typical day.
I’ll be reading and my brain skips over a word, or my mind just flips it into nonsense. I am dyslexic with numbers so I always have to double triple check my work. My ADHD is not so much I have to be moving, but my brain jumps around to things like a ping pong ball. I’ll be thinking, I’m going to write the word apple” but my brain writes apricot. I’m forever forgetting my train of thought and usually retrace my steps to figure out what I was thinking before I forgot. If I’m folding laundry while watching TV I don’t even notice, but I’m usually walking in a circle around my coffee table when I do it.
I know my brain is different, but it also helps me in my job. I work as an accountant (lol who would have thought? I am terrible at math) and I get hyper focused. It’s like I don’t even hear anything and am just turned into work. I don’t even realize I’ve sat at my desk for 6 hours straight. Numbers are patterns so it all just goes quiet and I’m able to get my work done. Music in the background helps my ADHD brain focus on that while my work brain goes to work.
Idk if any of that makes sense, but your post does remind me of myself. I’ve been on meds my whole life and having ADHD doesn’t bother me. I just had to learn ways to manage it (music).
Edit: Forgot to mention, my husband is ADHD and his thing is he has to be moving and have constant noise. He never stops talking and has endless energy and is not medicated. My elementary school child has ADHD and literally will NOT stop talking or moving unless he’s on meds. He’s “normal” on meds. Yes, my house is chaotic.
