I can’t be the only one. I love wearing a bra. I feel more comfortable with one on.
During the day I wear a seamless underwire bra.
And at night I take a shower, get into my pajamas, and wear a soft (no support) sleeping bra.
I am sometimes bra-less in the house, but I hate the feeling.
Maybe if I were smaller I’d be okay with it. I’m 34D. And it’s too much boobage swinging around for my liking. lol
Comments
Similar size to you and I feel the same. Any recommendations for a sleeping one? I’d prefer to sleep in one but am not really sure what to buy for that.
I will never understand what it’s like to enjoy being without a bra and I’m used to it at this point 😂
I am also a 34D and find it uncomfortable without a bra, but I also hate bras. So there is no happy middle ground haha
Also 34D, but I have a large upper torso frame with wide-spaced breasts, so I don’t look it.
And with the larger frame they don’t get too bouncy, tbh. Even so, I always feel better with a bra on. It’s like a hug I get to wear around all day.
I don’t have any boobs to speak of. Home Depot might confuse me with a lost piece of cedar board if I stood naked against a beam in the lumber aisle.
But I do also enjoy wearing a bra. My reason though has more to do with the fact that I have Andrew Bernard nipples and cannot cope with any sort of chaffing sensation.
I just mentally sprinkled holy water on you. Hahaahahahahahahahahhahaa!! I’m about to go to the autoshop and I have no bra on. After picking up my car, off to run errands braless.
You might be bigger than a 34D. Maybe poke around /r/abrathatfits and see if anything jumps out at you. They do recommendations too!
I couldn’t not wear a bra, I’m a 36H, I don’t wear them to sleep, but I do have wireless ones I use after I’ve had my evening bath.
Yeah I always have a bra on lol I am also 34D. I’ve never been comfortable without one
34E. i wear soft sleep bras. i don’t really enjoy free boobing.
i was a smaller size when younger and definitely went around in public without a bra. but i just hate the sensation now.
B cup girl here. I feel most comfortable wearing what I call a soft bra – plain cotton, coverage like a sports bra with thick straps (so nothing digging into the shoulders), with no clips, clasps or wire. Joe Fresh multipack. Gives me a bit of a uni boob and the nips can be a little noticeable, so I wear them at home and in certain outfits out of the house (looser shirts, sweaters, etc). But so comfy. I don’t notice I’m wearing it at all, but I notice when I’m not, if that makes sense. The boobs just feel like they’re all over the place and unsupported if I’m bra less, and I don’t like how the underside of my boob rubs on my skin. I don’t sleep with any bra on, and occasionally I’ll spend some time in the morning or night without it, but I put it on when I’m putting my house clothes on in the morning.
I’m uncomfortable without something holding the girls in. I’m a small B, so I don’t need much support. I wear an underwire or sports bra in public, and a tight cami at home.
Hello!! 40DD over here. Not having any support HURTS. My bra “routine” is pretty much the same as yours. Sometimes if I’m having a really lazy at-home day I’ll use a soft bra during the day too, but usually daytime=underwire.
I’m a 44DDD and I hate bras. I’m usually bra-less at home with my floppy watermelons being spread out. Bras with good support can be exhausting on my shoulders and no nothing for my back pain. I do wear one when going out because I don’t want to scare people off and it makes clothes look better.
Goddamn hate bras. I’m a 36 D. I
I have way smaller boobs and I do like a bra . I just never liked the sensation of nipples rubbing against clothing. It felt incredibly uncomfortable and almost painful to me.
Complete opposite. I’m a 36/38 G/GG and I hate wearing bras. They are never comfortable. For sensory reasons I can’t stand tight things across my stomach and for the bra to be supportive it has to be tight. And then when I’m sitting it has to be loosened but then it’s way too loose when standing. I hate it, I miss having a bra that I like.
I have a significant amount of boobage and yes, I feel so comfortable in a bra. It’s like the cozy feeling of wearing leggings, idk
I’m a G/H cup and I’m almost always in a bra for the support. No bra = too much swing
No idea why, but this made me sing “where my girls at, from the front the back..”
I’m usually just a B cup and only wear a bra when I go out somewhere but when I’m breastfeeding I HAVE to wear one 24/7. I get the heaviness and how it’s so uncomfortable not to have support
I’m a 34E and always wear a bra out. I sleep naked so don’t wear one to bed. Also don’t wear one if I’m staying in.
30DD and I love bras – keeping my skin from touching my skin since 2003. I also like the option of things like: being able to run at a moment’s notice, going up the stairs quickly, and not accidentally crunching my own tit when I roll around in bed. Also, random, but I’ll also spruik the Uniqlo in-built bra tank tops as being amazing for sleep and life.
I am also more comfortable with one and am a similar size. I don’t sleep with one but if I am up I’m in a bra. It’s the first thing I do. Keeps me from having to think about them which I appreciate.
I love wearing bras because it keeps these giant gals from bouncing around.
Yeah, same size and I cannot go braless. It hurts way too much! I have never understood people who say it feels like freedom or relief to take their bra off at the end of the day? For me, it feels like the soft tissue inside is being dragged and stretched by the pull of gravity. OUCH. I am always wearing some sort of bra.
Definitely the same way, I’m 38DDD. I don’t sleep with any kind of one on, but I feel like I’d be more comfortable!! I truly hate the feeling of not wearing one.
I’m not comfortable without a bra unless I’m on the couch for the evening. I have like, two Torrid bras that are supportive and have underwire that I’ll wear if I need structure but otherwise I live in bralettes. Just something so they’re not just hanging there.
I’m a 38F/36FF and at home my girls go freeeee. When clothed I swear by Elomi bras but I could use even a bit more projection.. unfortunately polish bras are SO expensive Q.Q
Same girl. My hot potatties flop all over without a bra and im only a 34B 😂 breastfeeding was not kind to my sweet teets so bra is required at all times.
I love a bra or a compressive tank!
OP, blink if you’re being held hostage by the bra industry
I agree. I also believe that many of the clothes I own were made with the intention of the wearer having the appropriate undergarments. Many of my blouses would not fit correctly without a bra, so it’s not just about comfort. Bras are functional as well.
I have big boobs and it’s so uncomfortable to have my chest be unsupported. It’s pretty much required to at least have a sports bra on unless I’m sleeping.
If I do any kind of activity that requires me going faster than a walk, I need to wear two sports bras.
Make sure you get real measurements done or do your measurements yourself. I had my measurements don’t at Nordstrom years ago, and the woman told me what brands I could find online for less if I couldn’t afford them in store. Having correct measurements is the most important part, and most places don’t do measurements correctly (I’m looking at you Victoria’s Secret: tried to tell me I was a 40 DDD when my band size was a 36 at the time)
Best bras for no wire: torrid hands down. If you want bralettes they have great ones also. If you have a large bra size and you don’t mind a wire (I’m a 38K in U.S. and 38 H in UK) Bravissimo, Torrid, Fig Leaves, Freya, Panache (go up a band size), Curvy Kate, ASOS sometimes has stuff, Maidenform, and also someone told me that Lane Bryant has stuff now too. If you want something that won’t squish your ribs, you can always go up a band size and even add extra hook and eyes.
I prefer to wear no clothes at all, and a bra is included in that. I’m C/D cup so I can’t go braless without someone eventually commenting or being snide, but the moment I’m home, that bra comes off and goes in the laundry.
My husband of 19 years still looks at me like I’ve done magic when I take my bra off without taking off my top when I get home. 😂

38C here…I can’t stand not wearing a bra.
36DD in the house and a good bra is a truly wonderful thing.
Here 👋. I’m not that busty at 34B, but I get cold. And it’s very obvious when I’m cold 🤣. I like the feeling and protection of a lined bra.
28F, and if I’m awake I’m wearing a bra. An underwire bra. I’ve been known to sleep in them too.
I’m with you. No support is simply uncomfortable. An ill fitting or wrong style of bra is too, of course, which is why I have a zero tolerance policy for those.
I hate not wearing a bra. My boobs are way too big and I feel like they just get in the way of everything if I’m not wearing one, I’ll accidentally lay on one like when a guy sits on his balls and I HATE it, I like them tucked away in one spot. Plus when I don’t wear a bra the underboob sweat is unbearable. I’ll wear a bra even when I’m home alone, the only time it comes off is for showers and bed time.
33F with 34B. I wear a bra 24/7. Only off while in the shower. Feel comfortable.
The only other exceptions are dresses/swimsuits with an actual bra attached.
I like wearing them too! I wear a 32H and I just feel so much more supported wearing one. I don’t wear them to bed but I have pajama tops that have the built in shelf.
Here! I’ve never ever related to the meme of “taking your bra off as soon as you get home.”
Life is so much more comfortable with one on. And I don’t mean it’s the lesser of two evils. I can’t feel it. It’s not uncomfortable. They’re great.
I’m on the smaller side but I prefer being in a bra during the day hands down. But when I sleep, it’s gotta come off. I feel too restricted?
I heard some woman describe her clothes as “hard clothes” and “soft clothes”. I would consider my bras to be hard clothes but hard clothes are ok during the day, not at night lmao. Nighttime is for soft clothes but sometimes I will wear my super soft no underwire bra but sometimes it shifts and I HATE that feeling.
Hmm I guess I have some sensory issues haha.
I like wearing a bra. I’m a 32H as well though
After nursing 2 kids and losing 40 lbs, my boobs need a bra. Otherwise, they’re swinging down near my belly button >D
40DD. No thank you. I wish I liked them. I wish I could get a reduction.
Yes me! I can’t IMAGINE spending the day without wearing a bra, I hate the feeling so much. Feels sweaty and uncomfortable.
Any time this comes up it almost always comes down to cup size lol. My roommate in college was a 32A she would run 10 miles without a sports bra… IMAGINE
40H here. At home, I like to wear a bra during the day when I’m doing things like cleaning and household chores. When it’s time to chill, I don’t want to be wearing a bra. I will absolutely never go braless in public. It’s uncomfortable to walk around without one.
I always wear a bra, too! I haven’t worn one with a wire in years. I wear those ugly Warner’s bras 24/7
You lost me at sleeping bra. Hellll to the no. The girls need free range in bed.
I feel more comfortable wearing a bra when I’m out and about/planning to leave the house than I am when I choose to stay home for the day. Days where I stay home are days the girls are free.
36 D here, I always use a bra, at home I’m wearing a basic sports bra, I even use them to sleep, and of course when I go out I always have a bra on. I go with the most comfortable I’ve been able to find.
I’m a 32G and yeah, I hate not wearing a bra (except to sleep). I don’t even like sports bras. I wear an underwire bra every day unless I’m sick, and my bikini tops are all underwire bra size.
I like to go braless at home when I’m resting, but, otherwise, I prefer a bra. Keeps things in place. Limits boob sweat. Also rather busty for my size (30ddd/32dd).
I’ve never managed to make bralettes work.
34H/J and I won’t wear a bra unless I’m forced to. perfectly comfortable without. it’s not a size thing, it’s a body thing.
I don’t like wearing a bra most of the time but I do it out of necessity. I’m a 34K UK and def have too much boobage swinging around. I recently saw a wire free bra at Bravissimo but damn was it expensive.
The vast majority of women are NOT in the correct bra size so it’s no wonder we don’t find them comfortable! I was mis-sized into a 34B or 32C forever, then found r/abrathatfits. My true size (30E) is far more comfortable and I don’t even feel it.
Dude this is me!! My friends think I’m insane. I always feel like I’m the only woman who doesn’t understand the “first thing I do when I get home is take my bra off thing”. On a related note – what’s your go to for your day time one?? When I was younger a full structured bra was totally fine, but I want something that holds shape but is still pretty comfy and I’ve struggled to find that in recent years.
I don’t like bras, but I do prefer underwire. Never been poked yet, but also provides more boob structure.
I really like balconette or ‘plunge’ style cups, bc I don’t have to worry about my neckline.
As a DD, bras are kind of non-negotiable for me. I go braless on lazy days at home, but I don’t even like leaving my condo to take out the garbage without a bra on. Feels way too revealing.
I wear the wireless T-shirt bra from Aerie almost every day. I have a few of them.
Both my sisters are large breasted and feel more comfortable wearing them during the day. One of them wears them at night to sleep too like you do.
I also enjoy wearing bras, also 34D and I just cant stand the sensation of them flopping around. When I lay on my back and they slide into my armpits, nah. I wear a sports bra to bed, they stay super put and I find that they look significantly less saggy than when I went to bed braless.
I feel better when I wear a bra, but I wish I had the money to get a bra specifically for my body. That’s one thing I’d definitely spend money on if I hit the lottery. Clothes designed just for my body, bras, jeans, dress pants and dress shirts and dresses but I seldom wear them.
I’m a 34-36DDD/E and feel too constrained in bras to wear one most days — my boobs are heavy and it gives me shoulder and back pain to have them held “up”. When I do wear bras, though, I wear Coobies!
I never understood the “I rip my bra off as soon as I get home” people. I also feel much better when I’m supported and tucked in!
30G and waiting for an inheritance to hit so I can get these pups reshaped to something more manageable. HATE the physical sensation of bras.
36F and rarely without a bra.
> it’s too much boobage swinging around for my liking.
Exactly. Plus, gravity has been kind on the girls bc they’re always held up.
Me! I absolutely hate the feeling of going braless. The only time I take it off is right before hopping into bed. I hate having them loose, hate the feeling of nips rubbing on my top.
I sweat a lot, and it gets hot in the desert where I live. Add in hot flashes and I’m miserable without a bra!
I am, in UK sizing, a 32H. I generally prefer not kneeing myself in the tit while navigating the stairs. Other risks of freeing the nip in my household: backache (more than already exists), unwanted distraction of any and all other human beings in range, major property damage…
I get away with a non-wired ‘soft’ bra at home for comfort, but out and about, serious structural support up to and including flying buttresses is not negotiable, lest the anime-style jiggle physics become a real hazard (and ruin the lines of any and all outfits).
I wear a low support bra to sleep too! I have some very old bralettes I got from Madewell years ago. They’re looking a little rough lol, but they’re my go to for sleep.
I’m a b cup but i hate hate hate the feeling of them just flobbing around. if i could afford it, i’d have them gone.
I used to be a bra girl…but I had a double mastectomy and now find them uncomfortable because mostly of scar tissue. I know I can go look and find a comfy one, but idk we shall see.
Yup yup yup. I am fairly humongous up top and it’s so much less comfortable to go braless.
I’m a c cup and can go braless but prefer bralettes to hide nippage, and they’re comfortable. I know its not it’s true, but I subconsciously worry they’ll start to sag if I don’t wear anything.
I prefer a bra also, but I’m the opposite of you. Because of my size it’s exceptionally hard to find a traditional brathat fits right. I just wear sports bras for the most part anymore.
Yup. D cup here and prefer a bra to contain these bitches
I am not with you on this. It’s the first thing I take off when I get home.
G boobs here. Love a well fitting bra.
I am a 34GG and I agree with you 100%
I wear a bra whenever I leave the house and I wear those stretchy seamless tops at home. The girls are too big to live without support lol just doesn’t feel comfortable to me
I don’t even feel the bra I have on 98% of the time. And it’s just a normal wired bra, not even a fancy seamless one. Maybe it’s because I’m relatively flat chested?
I haven’t met anyone with a high C or bigger who likes going without outside of their home. Mine are a 34 DD, even after two kids they don’t sag, and I still only take a bra off to go to bed. I need them supported or they get in the way/sweat/I hit my nipple on things 😂
I have am thin but have a wide back and am usually a 36b but I swear every bra that isn’t a loose bralette gets tight during the day and I have to take it off. The only bra that doesn’t do it is a free people bralet that is tbh pretty unflattering bc it kind of flattens me out
I can’t not wear one. Shirts rubbing against the nips chafes.
ME. The ONLY time it’s off is when I’m showering or sometimes when I’m having sex. Normal underwire bra, no sports bras or bralets
The whole thing that bras make your boobs sag is such bullshit 😂 It makes no sense.
I’ve had two kids and I’m a 32DD and they still sit PRETTY, I don’t even have a crease under my boobs. If I was braless all the time they would 100% be sagging
Here 🙋🏾♀️
I have big boobs and wear bras that fit and they’re so comfy. The idea of my breasts swinging in the wind without an underwire and cups makes me feel uncomfortable.
I usually sleep naked, but occasionally they’ll hurt (like, before my period), in which case I’ll sleep in a low-support stretchy bralette to keep them contained.
I’m uncomfortable w/o a bra. Wear them to sleep,
I always wear a bra too. Underwriters dig into my ribs too much so I prefer wireless.
Yep, same! 32d, and love my sports bra all day no matter what but I take it off to sleep at night.
I’m with you except for sleeping with a bra. I’m 34G so definitely toooooo much boobage dangling without support, it hurts my back if I’m not wearing a good wire bra during the day, but I do take it off for sleeping because wires digging into my rib cage is not really my jam
I’m a 32 D I don’t have this issue maybe you’re bigger than you think!
I’m a 36F and I feel really uncomfortable without a bra. I usually wear soft sports bras (Lululemon Like a Cloud ones are my favourite).
I like to wear them because I get mad under boob sweat when I don’t lol
I wonder how you’d like a bra sized using r/abrathatfits calculator. I suspect you are actually in a less than optimal fit as you sound like you’re somewhat busty but wearing a 34D. A D cup should only be a 4 inch difference between under bust and over bust (quite small) when properly fitted. You might step it up to a whole new level of comfort!
I don’t feel comfortable without a bra out in public. It sounds a little overboard but I feel exposed and vulnerable. And it doesn’t come from shame, rather a habit. But the bra comes off and is forgotten about as soon as I walk in the house. It feels freeing.
My boobs are really small, and finding a bra that fits comfortably is hard for me personally so I tend to veer the other way. Totally understandable though that a little support is comfortable to you having a bigger chest though!
Bras regulates my temperature. I can’t get warm in the winter bra less.
