I’ve been dating my boyfriend for 2.5 years. He has some quirky personality traits but overall is a really good boyfriend. We rarely argue, he supports me etc etc.
He does get very fixated on certain topics… I’ve noticed he will go through periods of talking constantly about certain things… usually male TV/movie characters. He spent most of late 2023 talking about Ken from the Barbie movie. I’ve wondered if he has some autistic traits but there are too many things (he travels for work often and is very comfortable around new people) that seem to negate that possibility
This week he has not got out of bed in three days (apart from pacing around our apartment between 1 and 5 am). He even lied to his work (which he never does) and said he was sick. I couldn’t work it out until I saw that a website he uses got hacked and has been removed. I asked him about this if its the same one he used to use constantly and rather than denying it he snapped and went for a walk outside. It was 12.30 am. As we speak he is lying in bed listening to music.
Is this normal for men? Is this a serious mental health crisis or am I overthinking it?
TL;DR: boyfriend can’t use a website he likes and has shutdown all functions completely

This isn’t normal, especially for an adult. He needs to get help. I’m autistic, and while I can’t diagnose someone I don’t know, his behavior mirrors autistic symptoms.
What was he doing on the website?
What is the website? Is it fanfiction site or something?
You can be autistic and be happy and comfortable around people. Some people struggle with social interaction more than others.
You’re very misinformed about autism.
Was it 4 Chan and is he worried about being exposed for saying bad stuff?
Uh definitely not normal.
It was 4 Chan wasn’t it?
If he is this nervous and upset about 4 Chan of all degenerate things getting hacked, you should just run. Being a chan user is a red flag in itself, but being this upset about it getting shut down is a whole nother thing.
You can be autistic and travel and do well socially.
No, that’s not typical for men or woman. I don’t know if it’s a serious mental health crisis, but it’s certainly showing he’s really struggling to function. I would wonder what the website was, and what his involvement in it was.
