I worked with an older gentleman who was a real life bounty hunter about 15-20 years before I met him. He didn’t talk about it a lot and when we worked together, he absolutely looked like he was mobbed up and I could see him hanging out with Joe Pesci back in the day or swinging by to pay tribute to Tony Soprano. LOL
A few things I do know is that he did have “disguises” which were more like maintenance uniforms and things like that. Most of the time, he said, things went fine, but there were a few times where things got a bit sketchy and dangerous. He also talked about how easy it was to find people because most criminals are stupid and go to their mom’s house, girlfriend’s house, swing by their former place of employment to pick up the last paycheck and things like that. After his research, it maybe took him two days to find the person. There were a handful of times where things went south, but that’s all I was ever able to get out of him. He did say that the last time he took a job, it got really dangerous and his wife made him stop.

Basically their job is just of course to collect bounties
That would be really simple but of course people don’t want to be arrested so you have to use tools or course
If the warrant on your bail agreement permits it they can even legally enter your home
Like a lot of law enforcement adjacent jobs it attracts some dickheads who think they’re RoboCop
