Perimenopause or something else? 35F

r/

Hopefully this isn’t bordering on medical advice, just wanting opinions from women who may have been through this already.

Lately I’ve been noticing I feel the heat much more than normal. I’ve always been one of those people who is ALWAYS cold, so this is quite a new thing for me. I didn’t think too much of it, but I’ve also recently gotten a smart watch, and I’ve noticed that my sleep data suggests that I’m getting poor sleep quality pretty consistenly and high amounts of stress at night. From doing a bit of digging I found that you most often get this recording if you are overly hot at night.

I’ve now found that my period is over a month late. I’m virtually positive I’m not pregnant, so it’s got me thinking that I’m starting to experience periomenopause symptoms.

For a bit of context, my periods have never been super consistent, and it isn’t unheard of that they will skip a month (although it isn’t crazy normal). Feeling hot is a new thing, but it doesn’t come in dramatic flashes, it seems to last for a while.

I’ve looked at symptoms for perimenopause and I feel like it could be that, but am kind of self conscious about going to the Dr about it as nothing feels overtly ‘wrong’, if that makes sense.

Does this sound sound like a normal perimenopause experience?
