No matter how late or how tired I am, I refuse to go to bed with dishes in the sink or crumbs on my counters. I clean the dishes every single night without fail and wipe off all surfaces. I sweep the floors real quick and take out the trash. Probably takes like 30-45 mins depending on how bad it got that day.
What do I get? I get to wake up to a clean slate. I make my coffee on a clean french press or coffee pot. I reach for any cup, everything is clean. I can run my fingers through the counters and know it’s clean. I come into my kitchen and I don’t smell trash because the can is empty.
Idk how to explain it, but it feels amazing to wake up and not have to clean a thing.
Waking up 30 minutes earlier to have some quiet time before the chaos of the day starts. It’s made a huge difference in my mental clarity and productivity.
Habit stacking was a game changer for me. Started with stacking habits around brushing me teeth in morning. Now includes stretching and reading with zero screen time.
I think of “future me.” And prep work clothes for the week, or wash out my bottle and put ice in the freezer the night before, or change the sheets the morning before a long day. Future me is ALWAYS grateful.
Everything people say in these threads basically distill down to doing more “Quadrant 2” activities. Basically doing things you know are important but we don’t do them because they aren’t urgent. Instead we split our time in perceived emergencies and irresponsible Quadrant 4 activities. The sooner you begin spending more time in quadrant 2 and less time in quadrant 4 your life will drastically improve.
Working out. I’m not a fanatic about it, just moving heavy things a couple times a week. What a crazy improvement. Obviously a firmer body but better sleep, less food cravings, less irritability, fewer headaches.
Morning sunshine/daylight. I started walking my dog in the morning instead of my partner, and my sleep cycle dramatically improved. I actually get tired at bedtime now. 20 minutes of daylight in the morning makes such a huge difference for me.

Morning yoga
You’re not supposed to be in pain all the time
Sleeping/waking up early and walking
Setting boundaries & honoring them.
Meditation and breathing techniques
It’s not always important to prioritise others over you , sometimes you matter more than it .
Writing or journaling. Spending time alone. Making more food at home.
Protein shake for breakfast everyday. It’s simple, keeps me full and atleast I don’t have to worry about what I’m gonna have for 1 meal of the day.
Using a bidet, much cleaner and frugal.
Journaling. It’s a healthy release of the swirling thoughts and emotions you may be feeling or experiencing.
Reading a book instead of phone before bed.

Cutting people off and focusing on me. Sometimes we overextend our availability to others and it causes us to lose focus on ourselves.

Stopped drinking soda, made water my primary beverage. So many issues I had cleared up in less than a week.
Another is really sticking to a sleep schedule (easier before kids, but I still try).
