Never had anxiety. Every time I hear someone say they have anxiety or an anxiety attack, I cannot relate and feel i am missing out on some sort of human experience
I’ve never jumped into water, although I grew up by the ocean. Also never driven onto the highway by myself despite having had my licence for 10+ years. Catastrophic thoughts and anxiety suck. 🙂
Never had the proper “grandparent experience”. My paternal granddad died many many years before I was born and my paternal Nan lived a 3 hour drive away so we saw her a couple of times a year at most. My maternal grandparents divorced long before I was born and so visiting my Nan from that side was then having to put up with her new husband, who wasn’t friendly. Maternal Granddad lives has never bothered to keep in touch
I never drove a car before and I’m 19. (which I know is still pretty young, but most people I know have learned at 15 or younger. I never did cause of my seizure disorder) I also never shot a gun before.
I’ve never written a resume or applied for a job. I just went to an employment agency and got a fast food job through them. I was pretty good at it, so they made me manager. Eventually a government bigwig found me and recruited me into the Canada Revenue Agency where I’ve been thriving for the last six years. I just got a big promotion offered to me last week even though I never even applied for it.
Edit: I’m not a baby boomer either, even though that sounds like a Boomer story.
Never been to a weeding. Not as a guest, not as part of the wedding party, nothing l. At this point I’m wondering if it’s me or just a weird statistical fluke
Getting a degree 4+ years! Felt I was losing time and was never good at the books! Sometimes I feel guilty about it but it’s not like I’m doing it wrong now but still
Getting a body piercing (although I really want to get my ears pierced now even though I’m a dude in my 50s)
The “rope swing into the water” or “jump off the rocks” thing. Am somewhat scared of open water, can’t swim (even though I live in MInnesota with all the lakes.)
Eating a Big Mac (I tried a McDonald’s “small” burger at a kid’s birthday party and hated it, the “large” 1/4 pounders I do like.)
Was nearing 40 before I went down a waterslide and discovered I really like them.
Using weed or tobacco (although for both I “smoked by didn’t inhale” once.
Moving (I bought the family house I grew up in after both parents moved out- father got forced out in a divorce and them Mom remarried and moved in with her new husband, leaving my sister and I behind. We stayed on as tenants for a while and then bought the place.)
Going on holiday with friends. At first they were all too broke (had poor parents too) and later they had partners they went with. I think it’s sad. When I see friend groups on holiday it looks like so much fun and I’m a bit jealous.

A certain function that alcohol limits the ability to perform, but luckily alcohol is entirely past me at this point.
