Mushrooms. Most of what I was exposed to were canned mushrooms which are still gross. It wasn’t until years later when a friend talked me into eating some grilled oyster mushrooms that I opened myself up to trying more. Now I love all mushrooms.
All beans are still disgusting and nothing on this planet has tasted worse than lettuce to me. The smell, the textures, the taste are all the absolute worst of the worst.
Properly cooked food apparently…I always thought my mum was a good cook until I moved out and started cooking myself. Turns out she overcooked most things hence boiling/roasting/simmering every ounce of flavour out of most things.
Liver and onions I used to hate it as a kid and even growing up watching Doug I was like you they’re eating liver and onions but now as an adult who has issues with my hemoglobin levels liver is really good for you know boosting the blood counts and everything so I literally just order some from this restaurant every so often smothering onions smothered in hot sauce and have fun
Artichoke 😋 I’ve always been a picky eater and probably won’t stop out of trauma having food shoved down my throat when I refused but damn do I love Artichoke now it’s one big excuse to stuff your face with a ton of delicious garlic butter or dip with it
Onions. I mean I don’t eat them raw like an apple or anything but I like them in all the usual places youd find onions as part of recipes or sandwiches. As a kid i loathed even a hint of raw onion.
Beef chow fun. It was all my mom would feed me when I was a kid at an upscale Chinese restaurant my dad liked to go to. I hated the veggies in it, and the weird taste of the sauce.
Now I desperately crave it. Soft beef, crunchy onions and bean sprouts, chewy noodles….goddamn
Plain yams, though I liked casserole and pie. Now,I just sprinkle some cinnamon on a baked yam, and,go at it.
I didn’t like black olives,either. Now I do.
Didn’t lije horseradish until I found out how good it is for the sinuses, also Chinese hot mustard and real wasabi.
Blueberries. I was tricked into eating them in a muffin as a kid by being told they were chocolate chips. It took me a long time to recover from that traumatic event.
Crumpets or toast, parents used to burn them in the grill but I threw them in the toaster which honestly makes more sense definitely cooks them more evenly with no burning.
steak. 🥩 my mom used to make steak a lot but she’d over cook it with absolutely no seasoning. i never had a properly cooked steak until i was 20 years old. ever since then i’ve been hooked and absolutely love steak
Mustard. Used to hate it as a kid. 1 day decided to try a Cuban sandwich since nothing else on the places menu sounded good at the time. Didn’t realize it had mustard on it until I took a bite. But it tasted delicious, and ever since then I’ve grown to like mustard more and more.

Not sure if it is the asparagus itself or just that the only way I had it until I was in my mid 20s was steamed and I disliked that.
