My 40th birthday is coming up and no one is coming to my party

r/

… that I planned myself because I didn’t think anyone else would. I knew I didn’t really have a lot of close friendships (which I am ok with) but damn…

Right there is why I don’t bother with parties, 5 of us for my 50th, myself and my partner, her brother, my then boss and his wife, not even any of my family (which is pretty big) came to celebrate, and have a cheek to have a go at me for not attending anything they have on

If you lead a life of solitude don’t be shocked when you’re lonely

My 40th was the last party I had. Maybe 25 friends. 5-6 spent the night. It was okay. No big loss. Party with yourself if you have to. In you’re in Seattle maybe I will swing through

I know the feeling. Nobody ever really shows up for me either. I enjoy my solitude mostly.

Worst case scenario, I party by myself.

That’s the worst part of being independent, you stop expecting things from people, but it still stings when they don’t show up

Plan a big trip somewhere yourself. Do something awesome that will make you happy.
