How can I stop being obsessed with money?

r/

At the start of the year I had over £15k savings

Fast forward to today and I have less than half this amount left due to poor spending habits (frequent gambling also)

I seem to be fixated on money which controls my emotions completely.

I’ve ripped up my bank card in an attempt to live each day on minimal money

I feel so stupid and embarrassed that my happiness depends on how much money I have available to me at any one time

How can I break this habit?

Get a hobby to envelop yourself in, one that doesnt require too frequent spending could be good.

    Quit gambling.

    Don’t gamble.

    It’s such a sad existence.

I’m not saying it’s healthy, but I think it’s probably better than the opposite. Being conscious about what you spend isn’t a negative thing by a hyperfixation probably isn’t good. Make a plan for your money and stick to it. Include in that plan growth.

Sounds like money isn’t the issue but gambling is
