Say, I’m writing an Original Series for Netflix. What kind of representation is missing of women in mainstream media? And what needs to be strictly avoided?

Women over 50 who have lived,learned and aren’t hardened but still incredibly smart and capable. Vulnerability is a huge strength.
Write women as people and you’ll be leagues ahead of media already out there. There’s tons of media that write men as human and women as women. Its less about filling a gap in representation and more about righting humans who go through life as a woman, with the expectations and experiences women typically have. Listen to women’s voices and get to know what experiences and pressures women have by hearing it from them and their stories.
Childfree by choice
There are very few depictions of women in the kitchen and women having babies on Netflix. For the sake of balance, I’d suggest going with that. Have them sew and knit as well.

Older women, Indian/Asian/rabic/native women, evil women, Asexual and/or Aromantic women, ugly/average women that are not nerd or very smart, gypsie women, main character of action movie women.
And simply women characters who is not here to be “the girl of the group” or “the mother of xxx”, ” the wife of xx” , “the friend of xxx”, “the crush of xxx” and who is not hysteric half the time and miserable the other half.
