What are some good outlets for my anger?

r/

I’m a teenager and I find that I’m angry a lot. I don’t have any outlets for this and have just been bottling it up for years. Does anyone have any recommendations? I can’t scream sinice I live in a condo and don’t yet have my license, and I recently broke my hand from punching something out of anger. I’m not doing very well and any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Therapy. Self talk. Identify what you’re angry at.

At your age, exercise is key for your sleep, focus, mental development, and emotional regulation.

Even minor workouts ( not trying to get jacked ) for 30 – 45 minutes can make a difference.

Getting outside is also good for stress which can help even if you’re not being physically active. Yeah – just touching grass lol

Going on a run. You can join the cross-country team at your school.

If you dont want to go to the gym, try indoor rock climbing.

Find an outlet you enjoy. Good luck, man!

You really ought to work on figuring out why you’re so angry

Exercise is a great outlet for both stress and anger.

Exercise. Running, swimming, weightlifting, anything that really gets your blood pumping

Gym, doing sports in any way but weight lifting is the best I think. Your body releases natural opiates after training so you will be calm and feel better after. I guarantee it. Also, very healthy and your anger can help you perform.

I don’t know if boxing or sth like that is good. If you keep being angry and can’t control yourself sometimes sooner or later you might hurt someone and if it turns out you’re a trained fighter that’s gonna be a problem

I think instead of putting a bandaid on the problem (even though bandaid ARE important, so use them) .. I think you should also put some focus on the root of the problem and why you get so angry all the time.

Exercise. raise the blood flow and keep it there for a while. I would run or carrying heavy things. Or chop firewood. We used it for heat. And smashing things with and ax is a good outlet. Carry big logs to the block and smash them. Then collect the things and stack up a supply of wood.

A punching bag is good. We had a tether ball hanging from a tree. I would hit that with a baseball bat to work things out.

After age 50, I would go make things in my wood working shop. I start with a big log, and turn it into wood bowls and things. It starts with exercise and heavy things. Then it is concentration. It is the combination of getting the heart rate up, and then focusing on doing something. And then finishing with something useful, or cleaned up.

It sounds like youre very self aware, so the good news is you’re going to adjust and get better.

Look into therapy. CBT is what came to mind first.

Also doing strenuous physical activity. Either running or weight lifting or hitting a heavy punching bag.

If you can’t afford therapy, physical activity and art are two ways to get your anger out.

Boxing, working out, writing, painting, music are also powerful emotional outlets.
