I never admitted this to my parents but when I was 15 I had taken acid and that is the night my dad had a heart emergency and ended up in the ER. I was so high and trying to remain normal. The ER doctor came to talk to my family and I was smiling wildly at him thinking ‘look like a friendly’ whatever that mean. My sister noticed (8 years older) and took me out to the room. I knew she could tell I was high and she was just about to lose her shit on me when a stretcher went by.
A young girl was cleaning a grease trap above the frying pits at a fast food station. She slipped fell and her legs got deep fried. She wasn’t screaming, she was either passed or or they sedated her.
I didn’t notice my sister went quiet. I was looking at the girl thinking well this is the worst trip I’ve ever had, I’m hallucinating this girls skin melting off. I 100% thought it was a hallucination. It was not. Then a piece of skin slothed off and fell to the floor and I heard the splat at the nurse jumped because it landed in her foot.
All in all one of worst thing I’ve ever seen and to this day felt bad about going to the hospital so high. I just stared bugged eye at this poor girl. No emotion because i thought it wasn’t real. I’m sure the doctor looking at me from beside thought I was some psycho for just starting and not reacting. In my head I was thinking don’t react they’ll think you’re crazy.
I do wish I had just somehow stayed home.

The doctors probably just thought you were in shock. People don’t tend to behave rationally in moments of high stress and doctors see it all. I’m sure your reaction was nowhere near the most unhinged reaction they’ve witnessed. It goes with the job. Especially emergency doctors

So one time we got these green Canadian maple leaf rolls in high school that showed up on the test website as 40% mescaline, 40% mdma, 10% mda and 10% heroin. HOOOOLLLYY SHIT these things were literally tripped out euphoria in a pill.
I decided it was a good idea to split 5 with my best friend—each ate two and snorted one we split up. Did a big line of blow and walked in to first period, only to find… that my entire religious studies class was on a field trip for a choir performance. I’d just gotten a perfect grade on my Hinduism test the day before so my teacher knew I was interested in the subject and came and sat facing backwards in the chair/desk combo right in front of mine to talk.
About fifteen minutes into this chat I turned around to the girl behind me and mouthed, “can you tell?” Her eyes told me yes, everyone could definitely tell 😂
I’ve never had such a mind fuck of a trip in my life. This guy was the wrestling coach and definitely not some hippy, and twenty years later I still wonder if he knew. I think he passed away this past year so I guess I’ll never know. If he did know I owe him a lot because the school has a zero tolerance policy and I’d have been expelled and likely arrested.
A 15 year old doing acid makes me sad.
I know someone this happened to almost exactly and he is a great lawyer and politician who told me his story.
Toss up between picking up pieces of body parts off the highway or collecting a brutally murdered woman (domestic violence) and having to cut down the naked bastard that did it. (Hung himself)

I mean the fact that you even made it to the hospital, is pretty impressive to me. I’ve only done it once, when I was 15. Although, my weed was laced and I didn’t know.
I melted into the carpet of my bedroom, while listening to sublime, and stared out the window for what felt like a lifetime. There was a park behind my house. People were running on top of the trees. There was a police chase.. idk, I didn’t have much supervision as a kid.
So, what you went through sounds pretty awful.
I had a job when I was 17 or 18 where they made us clean the vents above two rows of deep fryers & grills while they were running by crawling along the top of a narrow greasy tile divider.
I quit after doing it once but was completely appalled.
This didn’t happen in Madison WI did it?
When I worked a large urban ER we had a kid who was in a VERY BAD LSD trip,we had to knock his ass out to be able to treat him,24 hours later we brought him out of his induced coma and I told him I was about to let his Parents come back and see him,he said “please don’t”😩I told him they were so glad he woke up they wouldn’t be too awfully mad,boy did I lie 🫣
The pacing of your story telling makes me think I’m taking acid. Why was there boiling grease in the hospital?
I can tell because I know from experience, he might have known bc they see so much . Either way his job isn’t to monitor you lsd trip it’s to be the er doctor so I wouldn’t worry about that. But you and your sister did have a traumatic experience out in that hallway, maybe that’s what is really bothering you

That’s rough. I know someone who at 14 took acid on a Friday night with friends, and ten minutes later their mother called their friends house and asked why they weren’t home yet because it was their father’s big, formal, surprise birthday party. They’d forgotten and had to go to a black tie event with speeches and parents and family from out of town while tripping balls. They also said they wished they could take that one back.
This is similar to how the first episode of Six Feet Under goes…a character is totally high when something unexpected happens.
