I didn’t know how to describe it better. I don’t get the added value. It’s impossible to eat the fruit pearl and have the ice tea at once. When you finally manage to suck up the little ball, there’s barely any tea. It’s more convenient to just have a little side of fruit pearls with your iced tea at this point.
Same with soup with croutons in it actually (unless you like them soggy, then I get it, you’re getting soup and croutons in one bite). Same with cereal, I’m one of the exceptions who likes their cereal slightly soggy, because what’s the point of adding milk if the cereal doesn’t absorb it??
I can’t think of many other examples, lmk if you can, maybe you can find stuff that I do get. It’s not that I hate the texture, I can eat it. It just feels so pointless and more of a hassle.
DAE feel the same?

I personally don’t like Boba tea because it makes me feel like someone backwashed food into my drink, and now I’m drinking it. Makes me want to projectile vomit immediately. I hated the “orbitz” drink from back in the day for the same reason.
It’s like someone ate diarrhea and thought “the consistency is perfect but the taste needs work”
As a lover of bubble tea, I think you’re drinking it wrong if you’re getting all tea and no tapioca or all tapioca and no tea per sip. What brand tea do you get? Maybe the store is just bad and your pearls are just too stuck to each other.
Though you do mention “fruit pearls” so idk what the deal is with those, so many different things there.
That said, feel free to just not enjoy bubble tea, more for me!
Yeah, I am struggling to enjoy the liquid and the pearls at the same time and don’t know what sensation to focus on.
Somehow I end up sucking up too much air as well so it’s just a stressful confusion.
I am not picky when it comes to textures or foods, so not sure what is going on.
There’s the texture, the challenge of trying to suck them up with the straw, being able to switch between different flavours in the same drink.
Yeah I’m not a huge fan of the tapioca pearls because I don’t like chewing while drinking that much. I do like the bursting boba though because then it’s just a slight pop and it’s liquid. That feels like it adds to the overall drink since it’s just adding bubbles of a different kind of liquid.
I like the contrast in textures
When you drink bubble tea, the pearls get slurped up while you’re drinking. That’s why they give you a fat straw.
I would not pay for the variations of the products you are describing.
The Boba breaks up the homogeneity of regular tea. I often enjoy it while out and about and would not want to carry a separate container for the Boba.
The croutons add a crunch to something that typically only has soft textures. They go in shortly before eating so they DO NOT get soggy.
Dry cereal is dry. If I wanted that I would just have trail mix or nuts or something.
Same. Unless it’s soup where most of the ingredients have a similar texture, I can’t do it. I like soggy-ish cereal too. The black pearls showing on the outside of the cup kinda weirds me out too.
I just like Boba because it alleviates the primal urge to slurp frog eggs from a swampy pond and instead offers a tasty beverage.
Okay yes I don’t like yogurt with the fruit chunks mixed into it. But yogurt with fresh fruit is good!
Maybe you’re going to bad bubble tea places. I always get at least like 5-8 boba pearls in my mouth and I chew them at the same time as I have the tea in my mouth. It’s just a different kind of fun experience to be both eating and drinking at the same time
