DAE feel like Magnesium supplements helps with anxiety and stress?

r/

I had everything from chest pains and neck/chest tightness to insomnia and heart palpitations. The magnesium made all that go away.

It’s a miracle supplement, I swear if I take it for a few days it makes my sleep actually refreshing instead of just getting teleported 8 hours into the future feeling like shit

    Any brand recs for magnesium?

So there are 2 kinds on the market… citrate and glycinate… citrate does nothing for me, but my doctor told me to take the glycinate to help calm muscles and it definitely does… I sleep better also

you might want to go to a doctor and just make sure all your levels are good.

It helps with constipation – but be careful – it might help too well.

Absolutely. Magnesium has been depleted from our soils due to modern farming practices. Most Americans are magnesium deficient due to its loss in soils and a diet that does not include enough vegetables.

agree with everyone and will add that it absolutely cured — CURED, AS IN GONE — a heart arrhythmia I was having. ymmv

It helps my restless legs at night!

Just be careful not to take too much as mag supplements can cause arrythmia and kill you. See your physician and get bloods done regularly.

I actually take magnesium for panic attacks! I haven’t had one in a long time, but when I did, I would take concentrated magnesium drops mixed with a little orange juice (well, someone would have to do it for me if I was in the middle of the attack). It tasted like a salty butthole but it was more effective than hydroxyzine.

I definitely felt the difference firsthand! Before hand I used to be sluggish and stressed all the time, then after taking Magnesium supplements and a few days I’ve noticed my energy levels skyrocket and my mental health improving. I use Magnesium Oxide and it has also helped my digestive tract big time

I take 400mg of magnesium Bis-Glycinate every day for Restless Leg Syndrom. All numbers in my bloodworm were normal, and my Dr had no answers. I did a lot of research about different vitamins and nutrients that might be average for most but too low for me.
After a lot of trial and error, I found the 400 mg of magnesium Bis-Glycinate works 100% with no side effects at all.

No. Did not work for me

Does it work topically? I bought a spray and I am not sure about it…

I’ve known that for a while because it helped during my hyperthyroidism time. It’s also marketed for that. Just make sure you get the one that doesn’t make you poop your pants.

Absolutely. Just don’t overdo it because then you’ll have even worse anxiety in my experience. I started taking some but failed to consider my protein shake in the morning has like 50% of the recommended daily value, then I was taking another 50+ percent in pill form, ended up with heart palpitations until I figured it out.

The lotion is the best! Restless legs gone!

Yes because it does. Lol magnesium is a cofactor in over 300 ( ballpark estimate, could be more) different enzymatic reactions in the body. It helps anxiety, depression, your immune system, skin and sleep.
