Location: Illinois.
I was involved in an accident in Illinois where I was cited for improper lane change which the violation do not require a court appearance. Since I actually changed lane improperly I don’t actually want to go to court and get them to dismiss the charge. I am wondering what actions I could take next.
Should I just pay the fine. Are there steps I can take to reduce the sentence. What would be the longer term effect other than insurance increase and points on my record for 5 years or so? Can I take classes to reduce the points for example? Previous to this I did not have anything on my record.

You can pay your ticket and attend a Traffic Safety School program to avoid most if not all the other penalties that come with the ticket.
