PSA: AI is becoming adept at inferring location from photo context

As AI continues to be trained on geo-locating photos based on contextual clues and in the absence of metadata, I simply want to bring attention to the way these tools can be used by nefarious third parties and post a general PSA to be extra vigilant in terms of contemporaneous photos posted online.

    There’s kind of two sides to this right?

    On one hand: awesome! That beach looks amazing! I don’t even know what country it’s in but I want to check it out. Where is it?

    On the other hand: shit. My abusive ex saw a picture of the park down the road from my house and can now figure out where I go every day, even though it basically just looks like a field.
