I’ve played it, but I’m not good at it. There’s proper strategies and moves that you can use, but I only know a few and then I don’t know where to take them.

I own a chess board. It sits on one of my side tables by my couch. I’ve never played chess.

Me. Not interested in the game at all.

I actually won school chess tournaments as an early teen.

Nowadays, I’m sure I’d lose to pretty much everybody.

    You’re missing out.

Chess isn’t just a board game, it’s baked into everything. Every decision, every “yes” or “no,” every “let me think about it” is a move.

Even asking for a raise? That’s a chess move — anticipating their counter, setting up your strategy, maybe sacrificing a pawn (like pretending you’re thinking about other offers).

Life itself is chess, except there’s no reset button, and sometimes people are playing with different rulebooks.

So in this case even OP can say that they have played chess. Your turn. I’ll start the clock. 😜

I’ve never played it. But my wife has played and she good at it. I just never got the concept. So I gave up learning when I was a kid.

We even had a chess board at home, my wife tried teaching our 2 daughters but they never took a liking to it. So now it’s basically sit in the closet until someone comes over who knows how to play. I love to sit and watch people playing chess!

    I’ve never played. I don’t know the rules. I don’t care.

I learned when I was a kid. I can still play.

I also enjoy backgammon. Never was one for checkers.

I would like to learn how to play Go (English name) also known as Baduk/weiqi.

I like games of strategy. Rummikub, a version of rummy played with tiles, is my favorite. You can rearrange the whole board just to make new sets and runs to get one tile. I would rearrange the whole layout in my head while I was waiting for my turn.

    I also love card games.

I grew up with hippies and we didn’t have electricity or running water (by choice) so we played a lot of games and did a lot jigsaw puzzles when I was growing up. Shanghai Rummy is one of my favorites.
