Have you ever had a moment where reality seemed to… break? Like something happened that felt so bizarre, impossible, or straight-up eerie that it left you questioning everything? Maybe you saw something that shouldn’t exist, heard a voice when no one was there, or experienced a moment that felt like you slipped into another dimension for a split second.
For me, it was a few years ago. I was driving home late at night on a familiar road when I saw a street sign I’d never noticed before. It was glowing faintly, pointing to a road that didn’t exist on my usual route. I slowed down, but when I looked back, the sign was gone—like it was never there. The next day, I checked the spot, and there was nothing but an empty field. No sign, no road, no trace. It still gives me chills.
What’s your creepiest, most unexplainable moment? The kind of story that makes people lean in and whisper, “What the hell?” Let’s hear it—spook us, shock us, or just make us question reality with you!
I was going home on a city bus and it was about 4 pm. All of a sudden, it’s 5 pm and everyone on the bus is different from the moment before, but the bus is at the same point of its route. From town to the turnaround is 1/2 hour, but the bus driver made sure the bus was emptied at the turnaround (and then back at the downtown terminus), so I didn’t fall asleep. I always wonder what happened to that lost hour.
I read a story here on Reddit that was about a couple that went camping in back country and the next day they woke up and somebody had made coffee, drank it and the fire was burning…
They had put the fire out last night before bed!
Later on in the day there were going through pictures on the camera and they found a bunch of pictures of them sleeping.. ( someone took pictures of them sleeping with their own camera)
I remember visiting my aunt in Hawaii when the event “Lahaina Noon” occured when the sun is directy above everything. Most of the shadows are gone as if you are playing a game on low settings bt disabling shadows. Creepy event but fun to experience first hand
Not a glitch in reality, but a creepy Deja vu moment happened to me earlier this month.
I woke up one morning in a cold sweat and my heart was absolutely racing. I had a nightmare that locally to me there was a helicopter accident. I texted the guy I was seeing at 6:30 in the morning telling him that I didn’t sleep very well, I had a nightmare about a helicopter crash
3 o’clock in the afternoon, we are all crowded around the windows in our office that overlooks the Hudson River. Someone in our kitchen had seen the helicopter that crashed and fell out of the sky into the Hudson River right outside our office.
I once petted a puppy miles away from my house, and next day early morning my dogs started banging gates, turns out that puppy was in my front yard. There was no way someone kept him there or he followed. It was unexplainable.
My BF and I were in the car, we were driving on the highway, and we both swore we weren’t driving long, but when I realized I didn’t recognize the exits anymore I opened my maps app and set it to take us home. We were so far off track, it felt completely impossible to both of us when we saw our real location. The time we had driven vs the distance we’d traveled, it just wasn’t right, I wasn’t even speeding. We talked about it the whole way home. Never will forget that.
A few days ago I was stuck in traffic and the incoming lane had a series of different cars, but their brands were Chevy, Toyota, Tesla, Chevy, Toyota, Tesla, Chevy, Toyota, Tesla then it ended. It kinda blew my mind for a good few hours
The last few weeks I’ve noticed maybe 5-6 times when I’m having a conversation with a particular person, a word he says will also be said on TV, in a song playing in the background, or in a nearby overheard conversation, almost simultaneously. Like an echo. The first time seemed like a coincidence but it’s happened too many times now. Weird!
When I was a young kid we were on a road trip and camping along the way. At one stop I was picking wildflowers beside the rest area and suddenly there was a little girl there. She said “Flowers? For me?” And I said “They’re for my mom and dad.”
And then she was just gone. I looked all over but didn’t see her. I remember things being really weird too. Like the lighting seemed weird and the air seemed weird. I swear it happened, along with seeing what looked like a bear getting into someone’s car like it was a person while I was looking for this little girl. But I have always been a really vivid dreamer and when I was young I had a really hard time differentiating between my dreams and real life because they were SO detailed.
I was so sure some things actually happened that I dreamt about that I had been accused of being a liar. I just didn’t know the difference, and knowing what I know now I believe I was lucid dreaming my way through childhood.
i went to a gambling town in my state and my partner at the time was absolutely addicted to gambling so in order to try to stop them i threw my id like a frisbee as far as i could into a graveyard. we searched until the sun went down and couldnt find it and when we got home it was on the kitchen counter covered in mud and still wet with snow. not even kidding i wont even touch the thing in fear of it being a cursed item drop but yeh
Not sure if this counts as such, but basically years ago, I was scrolling on my phone and a bunch of posts were dedicated to Morgan freeman passing. A bunch of people were posting how we lost a legend ect. I told my boyfriend about it like “omg Morgan freeman passed away” and he’s like really? So he looks it up and can’t find anything on it. I go back to my Instagram and can’t find anything either. Swore up and down that i wasn’t lying, I saw what I saw. Posts on posts dedicated to him, all gone. From their stories, to personal friends posting about it to celebrities. My boyfriend said it’s probably fake news, but like, the posts would still be there?
I had a candle on a plastic surface (dumb I know). Anyhow, it burned a ring in the plastic. Months later, I happened to notice the ring was gone. It’s completely smooth like nothing happened. But there was still spilled wax from the initial burning. I have no idea how that was possible. I have a nagging memory of something happening while I was very high or drunk, but I can’t remember to save my life! How the hell did plastic UNmelt itself!?!
Sometimes I feel like Patrick Bateman: “. . . you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours, and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable, [but] I simply am not there.”
I was walking home late one night with my boyfriend when we saw a bigger guy sitting at one of the bus stops. It was dark so we couldn’t see his face but we crossed the street before we got too close to him and he got up from the bus stop and started walking really slow, like he was old or injured so by this time we are on opposite sides of the street of him and we are ahead, but we decided to get off the main street and started running so we weren’t able to see where he was. We had run a few blocks but we wanted to get back on the main street so we could get home and right when we got there the same guy was right there walking on the other side of the road! We kept running until we were almost home. We never got close enough to see his face or age, but man I was around 16 at the time and was tired after those few blocks. I don’t know how he caught up with us, but still creeps me out.
I used to work in a shop five minutes away from my house. I could leave at the last possible minute and still make it in time, leave my house, turn onto the road, head down to the high street and the shop would be right on the corner. 5 minutes walk, less than that if I speed walked or jogged.
One day I left my house at 10 to 6 in the morning, due to start my shift at 6am. I closed the door behind me, turned onto the road and started to head down towards the high street as usual.
About half way, my phone started ringing. It was my manager wanting to know where I was because it was 8am and she’d had to open the shop on her own. This came as a complete surprise to me as I had left my house a few minutes prior. Feeling very confused, I explained I had slept through my alarm but was on my way in now. I hung up the phone and saw I had received a text from my husband who had just arrived at his place of employment, asking me if I was ok because I’d left nearly 2 hours ago and hadn’t let him know I’d got in safely.
As far as I was aware, I had only been out of my house for a few minutes, there was no way I had been out there for nearly 2 hours. It wasn’t the right time of the year for the clocks to have gone forward or back. Even if it was, phones do that automatically. My alarm went off, as usual and I knew what time it was when I left because I checked on my watch.
I started to think maybe I had passed out on the way and not realised, or disassociated or something, but being that close to the high street on a main thoroughfare to the train station, somebody would have found me if I had been out cold on the pavement for that long.
The only thing I really remember about the day was the feeling that something wasn’t right and I couldn’t tell anybody as they wouldn’t have believed me because it was so strange, so I just felt massively confused and frustrated.
And yes, I was completely sober, I don’t drink or take drugs.
When my brother and I were kids, we were lightly head butting each other out of boredom. On our last head butt, we both heard a hollow, metallic tone in our heads. We looked at each other like “did you hear that” on our faces. My parents were in the same room and they heard nothing. I don’t know if something went on in our ears or something, but I can’t explain why it sounded like metal.
My whole life I’ve randomly had dreams that later came true in my life. Very detailed. No lottery numbers or winning horse names, sadly. But completely out of the blue and very scary when the actual moment hits and the deja vu feeling begins.
I kept a dream journal for a while, and my first wife would write down anything I mumbled in my sleep… that stuff came true later on too.
Not sure its creepy but it is a weird coincidence. Street lights/lamps often turn off when i drive or walk past them. It happens way too often to be ignored.
I had a coworker once that I am about 90% sure wasn’t a human. He was extremely socially awkward (not uncommon in engineering), had weird spastic ticks (maybe possibly tourette’s?), and his face skin didn’t quite line up with his facial features or movements. What little of his background I did learn made very little sense, like he just kind of showed up out of nowhere with semi-believable credentials that nobody verified. Every conversation with him had that instinctive part of my brain on edge, like he was human-ish, but definitely not quite human.
I has a super vivid dream where i went about my entire morning routine including the hour long train ride.
I sat down at my comouter desk and then actually woke up. Proceeded with the normal routine and spent the entire morning second guessing and dou le taking at everything. It was so fucking strange.
I picked up the landline (back when there were no cell phones) to call my high school girlfriend, and she was on the line already. She swore she just picked up the phone but never dialed, and I also never dialed.
When I was a kid and Home Alone just came out on video, exactly when the tree branch falls on the power lines and knocks out his houses power, our power went out. No reason for it, no wind or anything else. The power came back on 5 minutes later and we finished watching the movie. No explanation and wasn’t my parents playing a trick.
I had this nightmare and I was trapped in my room trying to wake up. I kept flipping on the light switch and the light wouldn’t turn on. Then I woke up and tried to turn my light on and the bulb had burnt out
I used to see what I later learned were called salamanders (fire elementals) on the tree trunks we were burned. Occasionally in the indoor hearth, but mostly the outdoor fire. I didn’t find them scary, just a normal part of the fire, of life. After my dad died I never saw them again.
Absolutely no relation to the Middle East or know of anyone there but had VIVID dream of bombings in some middle eastern country and a lil kid was sad and crying that they were bombing him. Lo and behold the news of Israel bombing people that day. Sad but somehow relevant I think 🤔💬
I lost one of my close friends last November. I woke up at 6:38 AM on the morning he died. I got out of bed and his wife said she called the hospice office and informed them at 6:45 but it was a few minutes later. It felt an out-of-body experience. didn’t have a dream, I just felt off, sad, and confused.
I once had a truck we called the Time Machine because it would make a 6 hour road trip feel like a drive to the store. I think it was because it was so comfy. Even passengers would comment “oh we’re here already?”
Working late at night in a nursing home with a coworker.
We were sitting in an empty lounge room (apart from ourselves), positioned so we could see down the hallway to the bedrooms in case a resident woke up and came out.
The tv on the far wall opposite us was off.
Mid way through our conversation I noticed that the tv screen was black, but it had a light to it. Like it was on but on a blank channel. The red light in the bottom center was still on though
I asked the chick if she noticed it and jokingly she went “bloody ghosts” and got up to look at the tv.
Half way across the floor the tv went blank.
Two things happened surprisingly not too long ago.
It is the time of my third break. One of my coworkers is looking around everywhere. I ask him what he is looking for and he says “My bumpcap. It, like, vanished. It was right here.” I say that I hope he finds it. A few hours later, I go out to my car and take my bumpcap off and toss it into the side seat and hear plastic on plastic. I cannot believe it… it was my coworker’s bump cap. I even tried wearing it. It would have fit his head, but not mine. My car was locked the entire time. What the hell.
Also at my job, I was putting bottles back on my line when all of the sudden, every noise in the plant just stopped. Everything was stopped. Time stopped… but I could still move. It could have been a second, it could have been five. That was weird.
Maybe DIO is real, and he is subtly messing with me. I have no idea.
Middle of the night, everyone else asleep, I’m still up watching TV. 3 or 4am. Doorbell rings.
Obviously scared shitless so wait 15-20 minutes before going upstairs to see if anything weird going on. Don’t see anybody or anything weird. Check ring doorbell app, at exact moment of the doorbell ring, this light in the sky passed by. It was not a shooting star due to how slow it was and the curvature of the path. But whatever the hell that light in the sky was, it set off my ring doorbell. Had the biggest goosebumps watching the video.

I was camping all fucked up at 14 in the middle of the Bay Area b it well away from houses.
I saw a large green light go from horizon to horizon and then a bunch of helicopters come flying over. Probably a satellite or something

Still no idea wtf that was.
Myself and a friend were having a coffee in my kitchen when we saw my mum walk past the kitchen door and towards the patio doors.
A minute or so later my ‘real’ mum came downstairs and into the kitchen to speak to us.
Berenstein bears or anything remotely paranormal/supernatural
I did a poo-poo, and when I looked in the toilet it wasn’t there.
