Is there a way to get over the fear of a dentist visit, from the equipment, to metal scraping teeth, any other kind of pain… not wanting to do or say some crazy shit while on laughing gas… etc.. who knows what could happen lol Edit.. I think that one Simpsons episode where Lisa went to the dentist was… maybe slightly traumatizing lol
How are dentists polled about toothpaste and toothbrushes? I see an ad that 4 out of 5 dentists recommended Colgate toothpaste.
I have a hole in my tooth that huts every once and a while. I don’t chew that side and also put wax or dent temp there I clean it often and take pain pills or numbing cream for it any advice I cannot afford to go to the dentist.
Whatās the real deal about mouthwash?? I use listerine zero as recommended by my old dentist, but it makes my mouth feel so dry and I think my breath worse. Iāll take that trade off though if it means healthier teeth!

Have you ever had anyone abused nitrous like an employee or a patient who clearly just wanted it for a recreational reasons? Iām a recovered addict and was offered nitrous when I got a crown once and I definitely wanted to do it again, but realized I didnāt need to and it felt a little recreational!
I couldnāt afford to pay $800 out of pocket for a new night guard so I did a custom made one online. Any real difference there?

I hear lots of horror stories about dentists telling someone they needs loads of work done then the get a second opinion and that second dentist doesn’t deem it necessary. I just had a very minor procedure done and the numbing shot in my upper gum made me unable to feel the entire right side of my face (including my nose all the way to my eye) for nearly 6 hours. I’ve never had novocaine last more than an hour after a procedure. Is this normal?

Boss I have my lower wisdom teeth growing sideways for a long time now, and a couple weeks ago i started feeling pain in the gum above them as they both slightly poked out.
I ignored it and the pain went away but its come back and now the bit behind your teeth thats sort of like connecting the bottom jaw to the top is hella painful and my left cheek also feels a lil numb and I have a throat ache and when I swallow my left ear slightly hurts.

Iām 54 and have Invisalign. It was fully covered between our two insurance plans (about $4k). I completed all the trays, but 2 teeth are still a little crooked. My dentist gave me the option to do a few more trays or to leave it alone and call it āclose enoughā. He did let me choose, but I could hear the disappointment in his voice when I asked for more treatment. He has nothing more to gain financially i assume? Other than personal pride, does he have any incentive for me to keep going with extra Invisalign trays?
