Women who emerged from childhood and adolescence with positive self esteem, looking back, are there any memorable experience/s or achievement/s where you felt the full power of your Mom or Dad’s love, respect, or pride in you?

I come from the other side of the tracks so to speak (radical low self esteem) so I am absolutely fascinated by the development of self esteem.

I don’t think I ever felt that “power” with my mom, not even after earning a PhD. My dad’s always been supportive and it meant a lot that he attended my defense, but I largely feel everything I earned, I had to do it by myself and for myself. Going into my 30’s my self esteem is entirely linked to my own initiative and self-trust.
