Long walks, working out, sex and cinema/binge watching TV with my husband while everyone is at school. Then family time / lovely holidays / fun as a family otherwise.
That isn’t something I know how to answer, because money IS a factor, so I spend most of my time thinking about that.
If money were not a factor, I’d need a couple of weeks of that calm to find out what life is like when you don’t have to worry about continuing to exist.
Fulfilling my lifelong dream of being the rich, mysterious uncle who always seems to have just blown in from an international adventure and only drinks champagne and eats caviar.
Besides plan a vacation, I would try new things like voice lessons or art lessons or get back into things that I know I enjoy like ultimate frisbee or roller skating.
Riding my bikes or being out in nature. Attending as many social events as I can handle, especially ones where I can volunteer at. Continue improving my physical and mental health. And winding down with a chill video game
Giving everything I can to others. It’d make my existence if I could actually meaningfully improve the circumstances of others. Unfortunately, that tends to be a matter of time and/or money, both of which I’m poor in.
I love doing crafts, so I’d get myself a studio for them all. Drawing, painting, jewelry making, crochet, sewing. I like to cosplay, so I’d go to tons of conventions. I’d read so many books and learn to play an instrument or two. I’d travel to places I’ve been wanting to see and take road trips. I’d have time to get my fitness in order and would be able to work out effectively with a home gym that is basically a regular gym, lol.
I would be able to help more people, but otherwise I would be doing what I already do: read tarot, practice Reiki, go on walks in the woods and on beaches, go swimming, go sledding, go to shows, have a nice dinner out sometimes, volunteer, play dice and cards and board games with my friends, perform at RHPS, officiate weddings, and go on adventures to museums and amusement parks and other fun places. Don’t wait to live your life when you “have the money” or “have the time”. This is it. You’re already mid progress in the only life you will ever have. Live NOW.
Playing Warhammer 40k at the local game shop, buying the home of my dreams and decorating a videogame/hobby den in it, and then tip 1000% in cash to food service workers. They aren’t praised enough
Lots of travel. When not doing that it’d be dog walks and hikes, reading, trying new restaurants, continue learning my second language, biking and naps. So many naps.
i just want to say that many of us can spend our days truly alive but we use weird excuses or limitations to say we are not
—
a lot of people are saying “traveling” here… why do you travel? see new things? meet new people?
well, to feel truly alive — you can do those things now! why does it have to be in thailand? go to a new coffeeshop or whatever
don’t make excuses of how you can only do that in a remote village in peru — that’s just a normal city to those in peru just like your town (or a nearby town) is a exotic place to someone far away. you want a new experience from travel right? fix things so you can do it once a week
it’s about attitude and taking control of your life now. what you should be asking yourself is how to get your mind or body right so that you can make every day in your current existence better. my 2 cents
and this applies to other stuff, not just travel. i’m reading stuff here that is doable, its just ya;ll dont want to do it so what’s the problem? the problem is you, not society issues like wealth
I’d go in on a very high end PC and VR set up. I get really into it during covid with a quest 1 but now I don’t have the time or energy after the work day’s done
I imagine my days being like the summer between middle school grades. We had a ton of independence and we kind of did whatever we wanted. Schemes, hung out, played games, hiked, swimming, skating.
I’d go back to school for sciences. Maybe marine science or geology. Those are my passion areas but couldn’t figure out how to make them pay the bills.
I’d set myself up somewhere with great weather, have a place right on the water and fish sun up every day I could. Hopefully I’d enjoy good health and be able to host family and friends often.
I’d travel 3/4 times a year and be front row for any desired sporting events.
I say travel and eating out at drive ins, diners, and dives. But knowing me, I’ll probably dump an absurd amount of time playing Minecraft or balatro. Oh hey I can do that while on a plane ride to Australia or Europe!
I think about this all the time. If I had enough money I wouldn’t work. Here’s how my days would go. Wake up at 630 to get the kids ready for school. Drop off kids, come home walk the dog. Then I would go to the gym with the other mommies. Get home before lunch. Run any daily errands. Prep a really fantastic dinner after eating lunch. Do a hobby until the kids come home from school. Prepare that dinner. Pre dinner, pack a bowl. Post dinner, pack two bowls. Get kids ready for bed in a stellar mood. Watch a little TV when the kids go to sleep. Rinse and repeat.
Lead a meaningful existence, spend more time with family, read, play video games, travel and help everywhere I can, plant trees, clean the ocean, put out fires you name it.
I’d hire help to help clean my house up, nanny to watch my baby, pet sitter to care for my two small pets, I’d book a vacation to Hawaii.
I’d get my friend out of jail who’s been in there wayyyyy too long for an accidental nonviolent crime and I’d buy him a car. I’d buy my s.o. a car and tell him to drive away and don’t come back until you pay me back for that dinner he said he would pay for he tipped 11$ used my Card and never paid me back.
I’d buy myself a blue or green (or pink) subaru forester. And I’d get a friend to travel with me across America to find my dream home =)
Once I had a stable home in a nice city or countryside I would start my two dreams of opening a meditation studio. And also my musical themed healthfood cafe..
I’d make plans to vacation all around the world. maybe atleast 5 new places a year. A few in the same trip.
Atleast one very very fancy restoration spa place a year. Maybe more.
And one of my goals is to go to every amazing water slide in the world!!!
I’d also visit the spiritual places because I’m a healer too and that’s a big part of my spiritual growth.
I’m also into believing in mermaids and I’d love to try to search to see one =)
If I had to choose between setting a mermaid and getting rich tho.. I think I’ll choose rich haha but.. why not both!!!
Traveling in a nice camper, working on project cars (and driving said project cars), working on my train layout (also probably getting a real bay window caboose for my layout) and spending time with my partner.
I would build parks, libraries, campgrounds, and public gardens – just areas for people to enjoy. I would grow food and give it away to whoever needed it. I would throw ridiculous block parties to get people out of their homes and just connect with each other again.
I’d wake up at 7 every morning, Make a huge breakfast (omelette with freshly ground coffee, fresh fruit, Greek yogurt, toast with butter). Go for a long, barefoot walk out in my fields (I would live on a farm), and let my three dogs run around freely, occasionally throwing a ball. FaceTime my sister and see what her and her family are doing for the day. Get back in, do some yoga, weightlifting, and meditation before taking a long shower. I’d go to my art studio (a separate building on my property) and continue painting, sculpting, drawing or whatever comes to me for a couple of hours. Then, I’d come back to the main house, make some tea and sit down with the dogs for a movie. I’d make dinner early (5pm), so I can eat it slowly while reading a good book. Go outside at night time and get in the hot tub. I’d lay back and stare at the stars for a while. Come inside, get ready for bed and lay around with the dogs for a bit before drifting off.
Sharing this freedom somehow, teaching everyone to fish or find a way to make sure everyone has a damned fish to eat.
We all fucking deserve it and I’m so sick of all the selfishness in this World, holy crap.
Stop being assholes to each other, if you feel like you’re about to be an asshole, stop, raise your hand and ask for help and let’s help this poor fool, we’ve all been there, we can do this together somehow.
Rent a jet. Fly (as a pilot) to anywhere in the world. Walk out of the jet and rent a car. Travel. Return to airport with a fully fueled jet. Grab a burger at the airport. Fly home.
Id move to Japan and lead a happy simpler life. Maybe open a lil taco shop, visit the local book stores and tech stores, go home to my wife and daughter and watch some goofy game shows with some steaming hot ramen
Build out the most capable 4×4 Econoline camper van possible and go explore the wilderness of the world. See every national park, view every mountain peak, spend mornings by lakes that are miles from any town or establishment and every big under a canopy of stars.
Nature truly invigorates me and I never get tired of it.
I think I would travel around but be weird about it and choose a random person each day and pay them to let me go with them whatever they do. Other tourists, natives, people with weird jobs. Just go from group to group like some sort of nomadic vampire of human experience. Then skip to the next individual or group when I get bored.
Doing anything but what I’m doing now. Basically I would quit working making someone else rich while being miserable living month by month barely getting by.
I would buy a little cabin by a lake and just hang out on the dock smoking a joint and feeling the wind. I like to keep busy though, so after that I would do a LOT of other things.
I would spend a couple of years immersed in music training. I play guitar and sing, but I am self taught and recognize my shortcomings. I would love to truly learn to play and up my skills.
I’d get a personal trainer and dietician so I could go from my 400 pound max scale not reading my weight to getting to 220 pounds. Have skin reduction surgery and work on getting fit so I could travel without hassle like I used to before covid turned my life upside down.
In the mornings, I would wake up with wife before the kids and have sex. Then after that and when they all wake up, we’d make breakfast together.
After that, we’d let the kids go play outside for a bit while my wife and I workout. Because money isn’t a factor, we live in tons of land for the kids to go explore and I have a world-class home gym.
After we get our (second) workout in for the day and the kids burned some energy, I’d get some work done while mom teaches the kids the first half of school for the day. Then they get a break and we make lunch (we grow our own food and have our own livestock, so they eat all healthy food).
After lunch, mom and I swap roles and I teach them the second half of school while my wife works. We have the best homeschooling set up because again money isn’t a factor, and also… the work my wife and I do is passion project. Writing music (my wife is a musician), working on the land, doing housework and yard work to keep things in order.
By the time work is caught up for the day and the kids have gone through their lessons, we call the neighbors for a playdate for the kids (because money isn’t a factor, we have the “cool” house so people always wanna come over. Plus, we love hosting).
As the day turns into evening, the kids are still outside playing while mama and I workout on preparing dinner for everyone. We’ve got the windows open, music playing throughout the house… she and I fill each other in on the work we did or the troubles we ran into, and work through them together.
We share a beautiful meal, the friends parents pick up their kiddos and we invite them in for a drink or two while the kids play some more. And when it’s time to leave, all the kiddos are wiped out and either me or mom will tell bedtime stories to the kids (we swap turns every night).
Once they’re fast asleep, my wife and I get ready for bed ourselves, read our books, and head to bed ourselves.
That’s the kind of day that would make me truly feel alive.
I was lucky enough to have this for about two years at one point.
The best answer is literally doing whatever you want any day. Sometimes it was travelling. Sometimes it was bbq’ing with my friends. Sometimes being lazy and playing videogames or just chilling at the beach.
The freedom of being able to do whatever, whenever is the best way to feel truly alive IMO
Travel with my wife and kids, golf/pickleball to stay active, gardening on the quiet days, and cooking dinner and watching series w my wife on the quiet evenings.
A combination of traveling, learning an instrument and collecting things. I could probably start my own museum if money was no object. Oh yeah and a collection of cars like Jay Leno.
Probably a mix of dnd, mtg, and small projects and making stuff just because, maybe something will be useful but mostly to just practice and learn new things in an applied manner

So it would be gym and books mainly, with some side hobbies and a lot of learning
Summer, buy a big motorhome and hire 2-3 drivers (compatibility tested) and travel north America. Winter, hit the warm beaches around the workd

But not just “normal” travel.
You know in books and movies where people kind of just “bum around” the US or Europe?
I’d do that, but with more money, I’d just live comfortably.
A few weeks in Buenos Aires, a month in Tokyo, maybe half a year in Amsterdam, etc.
Maybe even work some odd jobs just for fun and to immerse myself more.
Get a pilots licence or become a fighter pilot of some kind i guess

The freedom of being able to do whatever, whenever is the best way to feel truly alive IMO
I would travel the world learning various regional skills from the locals.
Build Adam Selene from “The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.”
Making music, creating art and events for people to enjoy.
Pack my backpack and travel. Never looking back never coming back. Once I have enough I would then get a house somewhere and chill
Travel with my wife and kids, golf/pickleball to stay active, gardening on the quiet days, and cooking dinner and watching series w my wife on the quiet evenings.
I would travel
I’d rescue dogs and cats. Maybe help out other humans too. I think making a difference to others would make me feel alive and fulfilled.
A combination of traveling, learning an instrument and collecting things. I could probably start my own museum if money was no object. Oh yeah and a collection of cars like Jay Leno.
Studying math under the great mathematicians of the world
Money isn’t a factor. I’m pretty comfortable in life. I just choose to not do shit.
Depression doesn’t care how much money you have. I spend most of my time with my dog, or doing projects in the house/yard
Around family giving them the life experiences theyve never
For example, id take my grandfather to his first dodger game.
Gardening, growing trees, raising animals and live off the land as they say.
Family and hobbies. That’s it. Would never spend a second working again
Money isn’t a factor for me. Chronic fatigue and chronic pain are.
Up north on the lake, fresh morning coffee with my line in the water fog still lifting that would be perfect to me
Like for everyone or just myself? Money not beinf a factor…?
Probably a mix of dnd, mtg, and small projects and making stuff just because, maybe something will be useful but mostly to just practice and learn new things in an applied manner
Travel the world. I don’t think I’d even bother owning a permanent home.
Spend time with my son, listen to music, and play with as many dogs as possible.
A lawn party with grill, fireplace, my kids running around playing, while their old man does some cooking.
I am that primitive.
Travel everywhere, all the time.
Build a homes compound for my family.
I’d be in uni collecting degrees and doing research projects
