i think the takeaway from this is that love is something that finds you, and that you find it in the most unexpected time, in a surprising way, and with the person you always had a vibe or connection with that no one else has with you. High school. We only knew each other’s names but somehow fell in love at the same time, which I thought was impossible because I thought he was so far out of my league. First time dating for both of us as we were both kind of afraid of dating until then, even if we liked someone and they liked us back. I remember telling my best friend about this guy who would come in that I thought was super cute. One day, he came in and I said “you again!” Without thinking anything of it. On his way out, he came into the clubhouse and asked me if he could take me to dinner. I don’t know what it was about him, but I was completely serious when I said “yes”. I was so nervous, I started giving him my mom’s number when he asked for mine. A week later, when our date came around, I had worked a 14 hour shift and accidentally woke up when he was supposed to pick me up. Luckily, he still wanted to go to dinner, and we stayed there talking and laughing till the restaurant closed. I felt so comfortable with him.
Turns out, he had recently quit a cold calling job before he lent me. But credits that job for giving him the courage to ask me out. I still don’t know what exactly it was that made follow through with going on our date!
We just celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary and have been together for 12 years.

So I’m 28 at the time, been single for 6 months and one day right as I was about to crank one out I had a moment where I said “Enough is enough, I’m ready to have a warm female body on my bed”, so I posted on Reddit on a local dating sub. I put my ad on there, surprisingly got a few hits and went on dates every week until I met this girl that came to my place. Her message was “I’m a 31 year old Filipina lady”. Invited her over, she came to my place and we circled a table like an apex predator stalking its prey, as we got to know each other. Went to my bed and we started cuddling. It was pretty platonic until I looked at her in the face, decided to say fuck it and made out with her. She gave me dome that night, but no sex. Woke up next day, kicked it all day and got soke subway. Had sex when we got back from the park, the local food market and subway. Watched movies in my bed. Next day I said farewell and we saw each other every week. Ultimately broke up because at 31, and her at 35, she did not want to have kids or get married and just wanted casual. I kind of wanted something more after 4 years.

I love my Wife’s and I’s “Meet Cute. I was working for Trader Joes before I joined the Navy. Unbeknownst to me was that my wife was waiting for me to leave Trader Joes so she could transfer to my store. About a year into my time in the military I came home for weekend special liberty to be with my Mom on the 1 year anniversary of her husband dying. We went to trader joes to get food and alcohol. I ventured over to the sample station since that was the spot I worked the most and low and behold, there she was…….my future wife, my Mayim Bialik Doppleganger.
I was his server. It was 8pm and I was on a double and really wanted to go home, but he walked in with his two friends, and I begrudgingly put them in my section instead of a booth in the bar.
We joked with one another the whole time, and I guess we were both checking one another out when the other wasn’t looking 😂
He left with his friends, and his friend said “YOU DIDNT LEAVE YOUR NUMBER?? Go back in there!!”
So he came back in and wrote his number on his receipt. 🙂 we set up a date that Friday and the rest is history. A year and a half and a dog later- the receipt is framed and hanging on the wall:)

i think the takeaway from this is that love is something that finds you, and that you find it in the most unexpected time, in a surprising way, and with the person you always had a vibe or connection with that no one else has with you. I hope all the single ppl in this thread utilize this takeaway because the search for love is hard, and its a learning process too. but when people say the right person will find you at the right time, its totally true!

We were chaperoned by his mom and older sister so I asked him on a true date to coffee and wanted to talk more privately.
