Im quitting my job at a notorious insurance company and starting a men’s grooming subscription box. Ask Me Anything.

r/

Full-time dad, full-time student, and now… founder of a men’s grooming subscription business called PeakBox. I spent years working in the corporate world (insurance.- yeah, that kind), got sick of the red tape and skyrocketing product prices, and finally decided to build something better.

PeakBox was born out of frustration with overpriced, underwhelming products. I wanted to create something affordable, actually good, and made for normal guys who just want to look and feel decent without overthinking it.

In the past year, I’ve learned how to source products, build a brand, design packaging, and juggle all that while raising three kids . Our first box ships this fall.

Ask me anything – entrepreneurship, insurance industry BS, startup chaos, or even parenting through a product launch.

This has been fun! Most of the people in my personal life are sick of hearing me drone on about custom formulations or the inspiration behind my design process.

I will 100% be doing more of these!

What insurance company? If not specific company than what kind of insurance? Health? Auto? What was/ is your job there? How much money do you make? Do you work in office or from home? Do they know you are quitting?

Also, it’s a little weird you’re doing this ama about your insurance company job combined with an ama about your start up. I don’t hate the hustle, just naming the elephant in the room right away.

Are you here to drum up biz for your box? Because it reads like an advertisement.

I searched PeakBox and nothing came up.

    What scents did you like?

More importantly, what scents did you hate?

I’ve found that that basic ‘musk’ smell is awful. Like Brute, lord that smells atrocious. I’m not your base, but I’m really picky about what I like on my husband. Really helps determine how much I fawn on him at the time.
