It’s extremely rude for people to expect crowds to walk around them though. Instagram and the internet are not real life, stop inconveniencing all of society for your stupid bad photos.
Please everyone WALK THROUGH all the people taking up whole walkways to take photos.
If you ask for people to take pictures of you and it’s right smack in the way of people, you are a lame ass.

It IS rude. But sometime called for.
Same goes for the gym. Especially people posing in front of the bathroom sink.
If I see folks taking a pic, and it’s a tourist/vaca type place I’ll try and get out of the way. If it’s some chick taking 37 photos with duck lips, yeah I’m walking right in front of you, or I may try and saunter behind you and get in the picture.
Let me tell you something about life. What is rude in a society is determined by the majority of that society. The majority of people find walking through people taking pictures as rude. Therefore, in that society it is rude to walk through people taking pictures.
If you want to be forever a part of their family photo, immortalized and shown to strangers near and far. People will point and say “look. Look at that guy. That’s the guy. The one who couldn’t wait 14 seconds.”
It was rude back when there was 35mm film. Not rude anymore when people take at least 10 pics a day on any given day
