Yeah, you read that right. These guys are hauling tree stands out at night, setting them up like they’re deer hunting, and climbing utility poles to cut out anything with copper.
They’ve managed to kill internet service for a huge chunk of the town. Businesses can’t process debit/credit cards, people can’t work from home, and everything’s going to hell over a couple bucks worth of scrap.
Ask me anything about the chaos, how it’s affecting life here, or the absurd reality of living somewhere where this kind of thing actually happens.

😂 can you please tell us what city this is?
Okay, I was wrong in my last comment–this actually the most absurd thing I read today.
What is the law enforcement like there?
Do you often see them roaming around, can you paint a picture of what it’s like in an average meth-y neighborhood?
Do you know any of the copper thieves?
What’s your impression of the town?
What would you change?
I worked in utilities for a long time. This is frequently a self regulating problem. You’ll know when the power goes out… but’s its a smell you don’t forget.
What’s funny is the idiots frequently steal fiber thinking its copper when it isn’t.
go find Skinny Pete and Badger
If I wanted to randomly abandon my perfectly amazing life and move there how easy would it be to have readily available meth and create a faction of tweakers I could lead with meth to build a time machine <—–im emphasizing this sentence (and he’s doing it right now)
. Lots of meth? Tweakers work together?
Sounds like a plan, bird is the word tweak tweak
What’s the legality of accidentally crashing into a pole when a tweaker is 15 ft up there?
My small town is mostly drunks, and crashing into a street lamp is pretty common.
You could ban copper recyclers in the county
Do you think that the USA is great as it seems you can’t control your drug use and poverty probleem?
Appalachia?
How much are you making from it? Also how’s the meth?
